In 1994 I was working for Tri-city Baptist Church as the groundskeeper, I had just moved to Arizona from New York and was struggling to find some work. We were having AC issues at the church and the company they were using came out to do service. That’s when I met Jans Tingen. Jans had been doing air conditioning his whole life and over the 11 years I worked there. I learned a ton from him. When I started my AC company, he took me under his wing and kept teaching me. As Jans got closer to retirement? He slowly but surely passed on all his customers to me and some of them we still service to this day.
Jans passed away several years ago now but every year I still get to go to his house and serviced the air conditioners for his widow. We were even able to replace one of them for her a couple of years ago as she doesn’t have much.
I am so thankful for all that Jans taught me, and I will keep taking care of these air conditioners for his widow, his old service truck is still in the driveway. What a blessing to be able to give back to those who spent time to invest in me.
