Big recognition for an incredible team effort. 👏

As part of National Public Works Week, the City of Flagstaff — alongside Hunter Contracting Co. and Jacobs Engineering Group, Phoenix — was recognized as an American Public Works Association Top Ten National Award Winner for the Inner Basin Emergency Repair Project in Flagstaff, Arizona. 🏆

This project represents what can happen when agencies, engineers, and construction teams come together with a shared commitment to restoring critical infrastructure and serving the community when it matters most.

Today we had the chance to follow one of our incredible Project Managers, Amy Rosar, out at our Scottsdale Road project to get a firsthand look at the work happening in the field. From coordination to ex*****on, it’s always exciting seeing the people behind the projects helping shape Arizona’s future.

There’s something special about being out onsite — the teamwork, the momentum, and watching a vision come to life piece by piece. And with a day this beautiful in Arizona, it made the tour even better. 🌵

Recently, our team hosted two hands-on pipe demonstrations for the East Valley Institute of Technology plumbing classes — and the students brought great energy all day long.

Students got the chance to work directly with mechanical pipe parts, ask questions, and learn more about the opportunities available at HunterContracting.com

Big shoutout to Patrick Nabet, Ralph Ballesteros, Jesus Briseno, and Joe McCarthy for leading the demonstrations and helping create a fun and interactive experience.

The team recently came together to celebrate the start of the intersection improvements at Dynamite Blvd. & Scottsdale Rd. with some great BBQ, good conversations, and even better company.

Big news at Hunter Contracting Co.

We’re proud to announce Dig Karki as our new President.

Dig is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Arizona with decades of experience in engineering and construction. His journey started in hydropower design before finding his passion in construction—ultimately earning his Master’s in Construction from Arizona State University and joining the Hunter family in 2010.

Since then, Dig has worn just about every hat—leading teams, mentoring staff, and driving projects forward with one clear focus: delivering for our clients through collaboration.

His leadership is grounded in what makes Hunter who we are:
Build it Right. Accountability. Safety. Integrity. Continuous Improvement.

When he’s not helping teams solve challenges or working alongside clients, you’ll likely find Dig at a park he helped build, cheering on his son at a soccer game, working on a home project, or enjoying a good book.
