Don’t say you can’t, it the plants fault!

Growing tomatoes can be one of the most rewarding experiences of having your own backyard garden. It’s much easier than people think.

When I cut my first suckers off the plants this year, I stuck them in a bucket and some shade on the back porch. It got a few hours of sunlight - nothing serious, but they managed to stay alive for almost 2 months and I’ve now produced a tomato.

don’t tell me you can’t grow anything. This was a neglected bucket of rainwater that grew food at my house. You can do this too.

When you forget to buy flowers for her birthday, but remember you’re a gardener.

Mother Nature always provides and reminds us to slow down.

After a heavy rainstorm some of my Glady’s were broken over. Belated birthday flowers enters the chat.

Take a moment today and find purpose in the garden.

This cover crop has been working long before I ever picked up my garden shears. Its roots have been improving soil structure, protecting against erosion, and feeding the countless microbes that make healthy soil possible.

Now it’s time for its final job.

By chopping and dropping it right onto the surface of the bed, I’m creating a natural mulch that will help suppress weeds, retain moisture, regulate soil temperature, and slowly return valuable organic matter back to the soil as it breaks down.

Healthy gardens aren’t built in a season—they’re built season after season.

Sometimes the most productive thing you can grow isn’t a vegetable at all. It’s healthy soil.

If at first you don’t succeed, plant something else.

I had high hopes for my corn this year early in the season it looked great. However, now it’s time to harvest and I have done something wrong. I think researching a variety that grows best in my area is in my future.

This year I’m growing a grafted tomato plant from Harvest Valley Farms and it is already living up to the hype.

I don’t have the know how or the tools to properly graft a plant. Thankfully the farm I work for does!

This year, I find myself lucky enough to be growing a grafted tomato plant. Something I’ve never done before.

I didn’t do the grafting… but I wanna learn!

This black cherry tomato plant is one of 3 I’m growing in various spots around the garden. Each location gets slightly different shade/sunlight hours thanks to a large tree on my neighbors property.

I call this an excitement, but in reality - I’m just growing 3 of the same plant in 3 spots and one has a powerhouse root system designed for production!

Oh what a fun little surprise I stumbled upon today.

These little powerhouses will reproduce some hungry pest control warriors.

If you spot an aphid issue, keep a lookout for this too!

Let nature take its course. It may take a bit for the predators to arrive. Be patient, & please don’t spray chemicals. Nobody wants to eat that.
