Trouble at the Lake House 🏡🐟 Ting customer Rob had noticed power surges many times a day while at his lake house. A couple months later, he received a fire hazard alert while not there. Our Fire Safety Team was able to help coordinate an electrician to investigate, where he discovered a loose neutral in the main electrical panel. Once repaired, both the fire hazard and power surge alerts resolved. Rob shared with us:

“We think the wire from the branch circuit to the neutral bus bar may have come loose at some point during the tornado that hit last year or when repairs were made in the subsequent months. We are very happy that this was detected by Ting before something more serious happened.”

"My husband rolled his eyes at me when Ting arrived but went ahead with installing it. Just a few weeks into have Ting, we received an alert for a fire hazard. The people who helped us were so friendly and helped us work through finding what the issue was! This case took us from a hallway light fixture to a well pump!

After Ting detected arcing signals in a customer's South Carolina home, troubleshooting with our Fire Safety Team narrowed it down to a faulty light fixture in a hallway that needed a simple bulb changed.

But this homeowner actually had two separate arcing signals. The second led here – damaged underground wiring on their well pump motor. Once a technician replaced the wiring, the arcing signals were finally resolved. Two hazards mitigated, and one safer home. 🏡
