📍 The Cove on Herring Creek | Lewes, DE — Drywall Repair
A couple different drywall issues were repaired in this vaulted ceiling area at The Cove on Herring Creek in Lewes, Delaware.
Near the skylight, the cracked tape seam was cut out, the drywall was secured with screws where needed, and the repair was retaped using FibaFuse MAX. It was then finished with 20 minute setting compound, dustless sanding and primed with Sherwin-Williams ProBlock.
The longer off-angle at the peak had been repaired multiple times previously by others, but the cracking continued to come back. The old tape and repair material were removed, the drywall was secured with screws, and Trim-Tex Magic Corner was installed in its place. Magic Corner allows up to about 3/8 inch of movement, making it a better fit for an area like this where seasonal movement may be contributing to the problem.
The Magic Corner was finished with all-purpose compound for the first coat, setting compound for the next coat, and lightweight for the final coat, followed by dustless sanding and Sherwin-Williams ProBlock primer.
The drywall work is complete and ready for paint. The homeowner will be handling the painting.
