RE: "THE OTHER GUYS"

I got a call from one of my neighbors on Monday morning. They called one of our competitors to clear a stoppage over the weekend. Why did they call a competitor? They knew I was out of town, but they could have called the main office number, 214-368-3838. But the "Other Guys" showed up and cleared the stoppage. Yesterday my neighbor said the company called him back and said they were sending the plumber back to do a free camera exam.

Why would they do that, you ask? An opportunity to upsell more services.

So, the "Other Guys" came back and told my neighbor they needed a descaling service and quoted $4,000.00. 🫨 The machine that descales your sewer is simply a traditional sewer machine with a specialized head at the end of the cable. My neighbor asked how much we offer that service for; its thousands of dollars less.

I hope homeowners in our area listen to their gut and decline services that sound wildly overpriced. Needless to say, Brooks Plumbing will be returning to my neighbor's house to resolve the scale issue. I'm so sick of hearing about predatory pricing.
