Episode 2
Dining Room Restoration

The Reality Behind the Finish

Before the new finish could happen the room itself had to be rehabilitated.

The starting point was a dining room with extensive drywall repairs, rough and uneven surfaces, damaged areas around the window, and transitions beneath the crown that needed significant correction.

So that's where the work began.

Repair.
Rebuild.
Refine.

I documented the progression because this is the part of the job that usually disappears when people see the final photograph.

The finished room may look simple.
Getting it there was anything but.

Every repair had to be brought back into the surrounding surface.

Every transition had to be made intentional.

Every imperfection that could compromise the final finish had to be addressed before the paint ever became part of the equation.

Because our Signature Finish isn't created by the paint alone.
It's created by everything that happens before the paint.

A hallway transformed into a statement piece.

This project was about more than changing a paint color.

It was about restoring character, correcting years of imperfections, and creating a finish where every detail works together.

We went with a full monochromatic and monolithic design using Sherwin-Williams Roycroft Bottle Green across the walls, trim, doors, and ceiling to create a bold, timeless atmosphere.

The final result is a space that feels intentional from every angle.

This is our Signature Finish.

We merged craftsmanship, artistry, and design all into one stunning feature.

Our Signature Finish starts with a solid foundation.

Before any color ever goes on the wall, we’re already visualizing and shaping what the finish is going to be.
That’s the part most people don’t see.

On Ben & Fabi’s project, the work behind the finish looked like this:
• Dialing in drywall repairs until the surface disappears into itself
• Tight, clean caulking so every transition reads seamless
• Sanding and leveling so light doesn’t catch flaws
• Cutting lines with precision so the edges stay sharp and intentional
• Taking the time to make sure the substrate is right before anything gets painted
•Priming the drywall work to eliminate flashing

That’s the foundation of a Signature Finish.
Paint doesn’t hide problems. It highlights preparation.

Outdated Stone Fireplace. Redefined with our custom Alabaster whitewash finish.

The goal wasn't to hide the stone by whiting it out..
It was to Elevate it.

We achieved this by softening the color, highlighting the texture and lightening up the mortar.

This technique preserved its natural character and created a timeless, more modern focal point that elevates the entire living space.
