We just wrapped up this gorgeous Manhattan Beach flooring installation, and that coastal sunlight understood the assignment. ☀️

🌧️ EL NIÑO IS HERE — BUT IS YOUR FLOOR READY?

Southern California homeowners usually think about roofs, gutters and flooding when heavy rain is in the forecast. But there’s another part of your home that can quietly take the hit:

Your flooring.

Extended rain, elevated humidity, plumbing or exterior leaks, and water intrusion can introduce moisture into flooring systems and subfloors — sometimes before there are obvious signs of damage.

For hardwood and other moisture-sensitive flooring, excessive moisture can contribute to:

💧 Gaps, swelling and dimensional changes

💧 Engineered wood delamination
💧 Laminate swelling at seams and edges

“Waterproof flooring” does NOT mean a waterproof flooring system.

One of our favorite details about Provenza’s Modessa Collection is the realistic European oak look and texture.

High Life pairs high-definition wood visuals with an embossed-in-register surface, meaning the texture is designed to coordinate with the visual grain of the plank.

The result? Laminate flooring with considerably more depth and character than the flat, repetitive laminate floors many homeowners remember.

From Where It All Started.
This was one of the first sanders used William Ruiz Hardwood Floors, Inc.

Long before hardwood flooring became the highly specialized trade it is today, sanding a wood floor was an extremely labor-intensive process. Floors were traditionally hand-scraped and hand-finished. Then, in the early 1900s, machines like these began changing the industry.

This isn’t just a machine…
It sanded our floors.
It built a trade.
It helped build a business.
And it represents the beginning of a career that has now spanned decades.
