“Maman” means “mother” in French — and that sense of warmth, comfort and familiarity is at the heart of every Maman café.

In this feature from CNBC Make It, Maman’s story comes to life — from the inspiration behind the French-American café brand to the distinctive spaces that have become such an important part of the experience.

For CORCON, bringing a brand like Maman to life means understanding that the details matter. Rustic finishes, vintage touches, florals and the signature blue-and-white aesthetic all work together to create that unmistakable “home away from home.”

We’re proud to play a part in building spaces that help memorable brands grow.

Pups of Distinction 🐾

Another demanding week at Corcon is in the books.

Lambeau has reviewed the schedules, inspected the job sites, attended several meetings he wasn’t invited to, and maintained a strict policy of sleeping through anything that could have been an email.

It’s exhausting being this essential.

Builders of Distinction. Pups of Distinction. Nappers of Excellence.

Happy Friday from Lambeau and the Corcon crew! 🐶💤

Pups of Distinction 🐾

Buildout season is serious business. Fortunately, Comet is on it.

Today’s responsibilities include pool inspections, float testing, snack supervision, and making absolutely certain no one works too hard on a Friday.

The humans handle the schedules, job sites, and deadlines. Comet handles morale.

We think it’s a pretty fair division of labor.

Builders of Distinction. Pups of Distinction. Same high standards. Slightly more treats.

Happy Friday from Comet and the Corcon crew! 🐶☀️

If you’re managing build-outs across a client portfolio, the challenge usually isn’t any one project. It’s coordinating ten contractors across ten markets, each with its own reporting, escalation process, and definition of “on schedule.”

That’s ten relationships to manage when your client should only need one.

At Corcon, we’ve built our multi-state approach differently: one relationship across every market. Centralized reporting. A single point of accountability from award through closeout. And experience spanning 27 states, including complex compliance work many contractors prefer to avoid.

Because you should be managing outcomes, not chasing status updates.

Black Friday 2026 is November 27. But for retail construction, the real deadline is weeks earlier.

Ideally, renovations should be substantially complete by late October, leaving time for final inspections, fixtures, merchandising, staff training, and holiday work restrictions that can limit construction during the busiest shopping season.

And there’s another factor: long-lead electrical equipment. If your renovation involves electrical service upgrades, those decisions need to happen well in advance.

A cosmetic refresh may still be achievable before the holidays. For a full interior renovation, now is the time to start planning for 2027.

The takeaway? Work backward from opening day, not Black Friday.

There’s a night every fall when the loading docks go quiet.

Most shopping centers restrict or suspend tenant construction during the holiday season. But there’s no universal start date—every property has its own calendar. And in some cities, municipal construction restrictions add another deadline to the mix.

Black Friday 2026 is November 27, but for retailers, the real deadline comes earlier: the day your property goes dark, minus the time needed to finish, inspect, fixture, stock, and staff.

The holiday blackout happens every year. The question is whether it’s on your calendar.

CORCON breaks down what retailers and their partners should be planning for now:

Built for strength. Designed for movement.

With over a dozen PureGyms completed to date across New York and New Jersey, Corcon is proud to continue helping bring the PureGym experience to life.

From bold architectural details and branded finishes to training areas, locker rooms, and functional spaces throughout, each location is built to perform—while delivering a consistent experience that feels distinctly PureGym.

For Corcon, great fitness construction goes beyond building a space. It’s about understanding the brand, anticipating how the space will be used, and delivering an environment that works beautifully from day one.
Another strong project from Team Corcon.
