WIND, DUST, HEAT & SWIMMING POOLS

While PHTA (Pool & Hot Tub Alliance) standards provide the baseline for proper pool chemistry and operations, extreme environmental conditions demand a far higher level of foresight. This summer, the Treasure Valley faced an unrelenting stretch of unseasonably hot, dry weather coupled with heavy regional wildfire smoke and ashfall—a combination that severely taxes filtration systems, drives up bather load, and accelerates chemical consumption. Standard weekly or multi-day service routines alone cannot account for these rapid atmospheric shifts without proactive strategy.

To protect our commercial clients from unexpected water quality disruptions, Pool DoctoRx stayed ahead of the weather long before its physical impacts reached the water:

SERVICE HISTORY & PROACTIVE GUIDANCE
Throughout the season, our team has provided exemplary care, with every visit logged in real time via our digital system integrated with our intelligence gathering. Additionally, we issued proactive guidance to keep management updated on extreme Treasure Valley conditions that affect commercial pool care:

May 26, 2026 (Season Forecast Alert): Outlining heat, wind, and organic loading factors and proposed increased visit frequency to maintain peak water quality.

July 15, 2026 (Bather Load Bulletin): Providing actionable guidance on managing heavy summer usage, sunscreen buildup, and oil filtration efficiency.

August 11, 2026 (Wildfire & Ashfall Advisory): Explaining the physical limits of limited duration filtration during active regional wildfire events and delivering dynamic action plans to mitigate particulate contamination.

We know we’re on the right track when we receive feedback like this.

From Hidden Springs:
“I wanted to say thank you for all you and your team do. The wind picked up pretty heavy up here last night, and there was a ton of leaves and debris that were in the pool. Both pools looked amazing this morning after Mike serviced them. “

Pool Doctor was fantastic. I called with an issue on my swim spa that nobody else in town could seem to help with, and they jumped right on it. Alisha was on it from the start, took great care of me, and kept everything moving with excellent communication.
Bud was the technician who handled the installation, and he was just as great. He communicated clearly, showed up when he said he would, and it was obvious he knew exactly what he was doing.
They ordered the part quickly, cared about my timeline, and did exactly what they said they would. They also pointed out a couple of maintenance items my tub needed attention on without any pressure or upselling. It’s refreshing to work with a company that’s knowledgeable, honest, and genuinely cares about their customers. I would highly recommend Pool Doctor, especially Alisha and Bud
