Big milestone on this project today! The first half of the retaining wall is in.

Once complete, it’ll stand 9½ feet tall (6 feet above grade) with a 4 1/2 foot footing, creating the support needed for this custom home. We lowered the lot nearly 6 feet to make room for the home’s footprint while keeping the site functional and setting the stage for everything that follows.

Next up, we’ll strip the forms, pour the second half of the wall, and start excavating for the house footings. After that, we’ll be one step closer to framing.

It’s always rewarding to see the work below ground come together because it’s what the entire home will rely on. Looking forward to sharing the next phase.
