An exterior remodel happens outside your house. That doesn’t mean life inside stays normal.

Before the project starts, ask when the crew may need interior access, when windows will be removed, and which stages are expected to be the loudest.

If you work from home, have kids, pets, or a packed schedule, knowing that ahead of time can make the project much easier to plan around.

Save this before your remodel starts.

The new porch ceiling wasn’t the problem. It exposed the problem.

Once we started laying out straight material, the existing porch showed just how far out of square and wavy it actually was. Before the new ceiling could go on, the framing underneath had to be corrected first.

The finished material is what you see. The work underneath is what makes it look right.

Just because something is listed in a roofing scope doesn’t mean it should be installed no matter what.

On this project, a power fan is included only if it’s needed. If the soffit and ridge vent provide proper ventilation, the fan gets left out and the homeowner gets credited back.

That’s the kind of question worth asking on any roofing project: what does the house actually need?

Technically, the bucket did stop the water from hitting the floor. 😂

Unfortunately, that’s about all it fixed.

If water is getting inside your house, you still need to find out where it’s coming from and what failed.

Building a garage? Think about the space above it before the framing starts.

This one was planned from the beginning with attic trusses, flooring, upstairs windows, and permanent stair access built into the layout.

If extra storage or usable space might matter to you later, this is a conversation worth having early.

Save this for your garage plans, or send it to someone getting ready to build one.

This started as a concrete foundation.

Now it has 10-foot framed walls, attic trusses, stair access, a shingled roof, windows, housewrap, board-and-batten siding, PVC trim, soffit, fascia, and gutters still to come.

This is the type of project where we like handling the framing and exterior package together instead of splitting every stage between different crews.
