As a carpenter, builder, designer, and planner, there has been no greater inspiration for me than Brent Hull. Tonight in Houston I got to share some of my work with him and chat for a bit after his talk.
Hearing him speak in person about timeless building, proper proportion, and the craft of millwork was a real privilege. His work and teaching have shaped how I think about almost everything I build. Grateful for the chance to connect.

Ten feet tall, six feet wide, and built to match the bones of this 1896 house. Adjustable shelves, soft-closing doors, and every detail period-relevant — because a historic home deserves furniture that respects it.
Designed, constructed, and painted off-site, then installed as five components that combine into one seamless piece. The kind of work that makes a 130-year-old house feel like it was always meant to have this.

Furniture repair? You betcha!
This sectional had a broken front rail and a sag in the middle of each long section.
I scabbed a new rail onto the existing one so the frame is solid again, then made four 7" tapered legs, stained and finished to match the originals, and set them under the center of each 6-ft+ section.
Same look. A lot more support.

High-speed run of how the furniture templates get made. Table saw, band saw, router table, stack, shrink wrap, and out the door.
No talk. Just the shop.

Next up.
It all starts with a drawing.
It helps me work out the details, and it lets the customer see exactly what I’m thinking. If anything needs to change, now’s the time — before the first cut.
