Protecting the surrounding environment is an important part of every construction project. Here, members of the Concrete General team are working with erosion and sediment control measures designed to help keep disturbed soil where it belongs and protect nearby drainage areas as construction moves forward. It’s one of the less visible parts of heavy civil construction, but careful site management is an important part of doing the job right.

There’s a lot happening on both sides of I-95 at Belvidere Road! While some of the most visible milestones involve the new bridge, there’s plenty of work happening from the ground up. Grading, aggregate placement, excavation, equipment operations, and site preparation all help create the foundation for the infrastructure that follows.

It takes a lot of moving pieces, and a dedicated team, to bring a project of this size together. We’re excited to keep sharing the progress as the I-95 at Belvidere Road Interchange continues taking shape.

Big infrastructure requires some big pieces! Here’s another look at progress on our I-95 at Belvidere Road Interchange project as crews carefully lower a large precast concrete structure into place.
From excavation and site preparation to heavy lifting and precise placement, operations like this take coordination across the entire crew. Every component is another step toward completing an interchange designed to improve access between I-95, Belvidere Road, and the surrounding Cecil County community. Give us a follow on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn, to see what infrastructure in Maryland we’ll be improving next!

Progress continues at the I-95 at Belvidere Road Interchange project in Cecil County! Our crews are hard at work on the new Belvidere Road project, with major construction operations taking place alongside active I-95 traffic. Projects of this scale require careful planning, coordination, and teamwork as each piece of the new infrastructure comes together. We’re proud of the Concrete General team helping build this important new connection for Cecil County and Maryland.

There’s a lot more engineering behind an intersection than most of us think about during our daily commute. Traffic signals, pavement markings, turn lanes, pedestrian crossings, ADA-accessible intersections and crosswalks, medians, drainage, and roadway surfaces all have to work together to help people travel safely and efficiently. This is the kind of infrastructure we use every day, and the kind of work Concrete General is proud to help build throughout Maryland.

Some projects are best appreciated from above. Major highway improvements require careful coordination across roadways, ramps, bridges, drainage, traffic patterns, and active work zones, all while thousands of drivers continue moving through the area. At Concrete General, we’re proud to be part of the complex infrastructure work that keeps Maryland moving and helps prepare our transportation network for the future.

At Concrete General, nothing can stop us from finishing the infrastructure projects Marylanders depend on. Whether day or night, our crews are dedicated to getting the job done! We’re building the infrastructure that’s driving Maryland forward!

Before the Concrete General crews began work on the MD 337 and MD 4 interchange, this is what the roadway looked like. As many of you who live near here, or use this stretch of highway daily can attest to, it was in need of updating.

As Maryland’s economy grows, our roadways must follow suit. At Concrete General, we are proud to be improving Maryland’s infrastructure, and the lives of Marylanders who use our roads, highways, and bridges daily.

On Monday we shared one rendering of what one view of the completed interchange at MD 337 Suitland Pkwy will look like once work is complete. Today, we’re sharing a different view, looking northbound from MD 4 (Pennsylvania Ave). Have you been watching this project?

Follow along with us to see where our next project to improve Maryland’s roadways and bridges will be!

It’s been a while since we updated everyone on the progress on MD 337, which is ongoing, and we can’t wait to show you the finished project!

The purpose of this intersection improvement project on the MD 4 (Pennsylvania Avenue) at MD 337 (Suitland Parkway) interchange (PG6185116) is to construct a new diamond interchange to accommodate increased traffic volumes throughout this corridor. The development of surrounding areas has led to widespread traffic growth, resulting in problematic congestion during peak travel hours.

The scope of work for this project includes:
• realigning the MD 4 access road and Armstrong Lane,
• reconstructing on- and off-ramps to Joint Base Andrews,
• adding a new shared-use path on the Suitland Parkway bridge,
• constructing a new signalized intersection at Presidential Parkway and Central Park Drive and
• constructing a new two-lane ramp over MD 4, providing a direct connection between northbound MD 4 and westbound Suitland Parkway.
The work will increase roadway capacity to meet existing demands, address safety concerns and provide room for future traffic growth.
Work continues, but today we’re sharing a rendering of what the interchange will look like once work is completed. We’re looking forward to improved traffic for our community once the project is complete!
