Dockside's 1 week transformation is complete!
We knew there was a bigger problem than what met the eye that was causing the flooring issues.
Once we opened up the floors and walls of the bar we found that majority of the problem came from the roll up bar window counter top, that was sloped back towards the inside and allowing water to pour down inside the walls every time it rained and it didnt help that door is on the north/northwest side of the restaurant where we get heavy crosswinds. Also there was some cracked siding allowing water in as well.
We had to reframe a portion of the exterior wall under the roll up door and all of the bar area because those walls had been sucking up water for years and had began to mildew and rot as well.
In 1 week :
Demo
All new sheathing and insulation for the entire bar side
All new LVP flooring from the entrance to the bar side dining area
New trim and paint
All new tiled floor behind the bar
New plumbing and drains
Reframed the entire bar area and reused existing countertops
Reframed outside bar wall, reinstalled existing countertops, and weather proofed the exterior with new exterior finishes so this problem doesn't happen again.
We had to take it all the way back to bare bones to get to the root of the problem and to correct it once and for all. No more band-aides π
