We asked Brandon what he wishes homeowners did more often, and honestly, his answer surprised even us.
😲
His biggest homeowner pet peeve has nothing to do with your AC or furnace. It’s all about one simple thing: courtesy.

When a technician comes into your home, they’re a guest. They don’t know where the attic stairs are, where the thermostats are, or which rooms they need to access.

A quick “here’s the lay of the land” tour and being available for a few simple questions can make a big difference. It helps your tech feel more comfortable in your home and, ultimately, helps them do their job better for you and your family.

It seems small, but a little courtesy can go a long way.

What do you think? Do you give your tech the grand tour?

It’s October, so why is my AC still running?

Because… Texas.

October on the calendar does not necessarily mean October temperatures outside. Here in North Texas, we can go from “I need a jacket” to “why is my house 78°?” in the same week. And the truth is, we all know that our weather likes to play some games with us. The real ones remember the 85-degree Christmas of a few years back, right?

So if your AC is still kicking on, you’re not imagining things. Your system is just responding to the temperature inside your house—not the month on your calendar.

Texas weather has no rules. We’re just living here.

Is your AC still running? Tell us what your thermostat says today. 👇

It's a day to celebrate Brad!
🎂 🎁 🎉 🎂
Brad is one of our techs, and we cannot say enough good things about him. He's always willing to help a teammate or go above and beyond for our homeowners. He loves his family and his motorcycles, and behind his gruff voice, everyone knows he has a heart of gold.
Join us in wishing Brad the happiest of birthdays! We hope he gets some time on the open road soon to celebrate!

Texas may be technically entering fall, but your HVAC system didn't get the memo.

Before we go from "Why is it still 90°?" to "Why isn't my heat working?", here are a few things to know.

From filters to airflow to that questionable smell when you turn on the furnace for the first time — your HVAC system can give you plenty of warning before a small issue becomes a very inconvenient one.

Got an HVAC question you've always wanted to ask? Drop it in the comments. Our techs might answer it in a future post.

Can your HVAC tech predict your electric bill to the dollar?

Nope.

But during a maintenance visit, they can get some pretty useful clues about how hard your AC is working.

One of the tools they use is a clamp meter, which measures the electrical current (amp draw) of different components in your system. Your tech compares those readings to the manufacturer’s specifications to make sure everything is operating within the expected range.

If a component is drawing more—or less—current than it should, that’s a reason to take a closer look.

Think of it like checking your AC’s blood pressure. It doesn’t tell us everything about the system, but it gives us an important snapshot of how it’s doing.

And that’s one of the reasons regular maintenance matters. It gives your tech a chance to spot potential problems before they turn into the “why did my AC just stop working?” kind of problem.

So, be honest: did you know your tech was checking this during a maintenance visit?

Big jobs require a Big team, and that's what we sent to this four-unit install in Plano. This customer had been working with another company and could never quite get their home gym (yes, an actual gym) to cool properly.
And that's when Air Repair Pros entered the chat.
We serviced the units that needed maintenance.
We repaired the units with simple issues.
And we replaced four of the FIFTEEN units that were on their last legs.
This is what we call meeting needs and taking care of the customer from beginning to end.
And a big thank you to David, Drew, Sal, Chris, Miguel, and Guillermo for putting in the hard work on this massive job. We appreciate you!

That little level check can help prevent a big headache.
⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️
A properly sloped HVAC drain line allows condensation to flow where it should (IE: 👇). We check it at every maintenance visit because our job is to do everything we can to prevent that little line from flooding your house.

When we check it, we're making sure that it didn't get accidentally disturbed when you went up to get your Christmas decorations down or change your air filter (hint, hint 😉 ), and it is another item on our maintenance visit checklist that you might not know about, but probably should.

At the end of the day, every maintenance visit has one goal: preventing AC problems before they begin. We're here to check little things like this, so you don't have to deal with big problems later.

Need to schedule your maintenance visit? Give us a call!
