Spring weeds didn't blink at the cold/snow. Based on having landscaped through about 32 Februarys, my prognostication is that after this snow melts it will be spring, maybe one more cold spell befire the end of the month. Weeds think it is spring, now is the time to get ahead of it:)

2 nearly identical Rose of Sharon, one is growing much larger than the other. I''ll treat the larger one with a Plant Griwth Regulator, the smaller with a top shelf liquid fertilizer. Excuse the mess in my van, we had a very busy morning😆

My sons would have edited this better....I presume they were too busy cleaning up this property:)
We were contacted late last week, were able to get a pre-treatment on the weeds twice in a few days (pulling nutsedge and common bermuda will only superficially clean up the beds, and only for a very short time). Some of those weeds were gnarly, including deadly nightshade filled with wasps. Looks good now and we'll check it in a few to make sure the weeds know that there's a new sheriff in town....

We Love decorative rock/gravel as mulch, but everything has a dark side. Rock mulch over drip tubing can make it difficult to gauge soil moisture, especially when watering trees, which need much deeper/less frequent watering. This little addition can at least help us see when the soil is saturated, meaning additional watering can be skipped until it dries up. It's 4 of my favorite things...cheap, fast, easy and effective:)
