In this video, Jonathan explains how we addressed an aesthetic issue with a cedar post supporting the covered back patio at this home in East Frisco. The post had an unsightly, but not structural, crack that presented no danger to the home, but just looked bad to the homeowner.

To improve the look, we wrapped the column and extended the siding all the way to the patio cover above, eliminating another problem they'd had with birds nesting in a space at the top of the column.

We were able to "kill two birds with one stone" and the look of the column matches the design of the house better too.

This project in Plano, TX features about 350 linear feet of retaining walls across the multiple levels of this curved design on either side of the brick outlay walkway in the center that leads to the front door.

The process began with a custom 3D rendering from our owner and landscape designer, Bailey Clark, to get on the same page with the homeowner about all the many details of the design, like the walkway lighting embedded in the retaining walls, the brick outlay (that matches the brick on the house), the custom curvature of the retaining walls, and more.

And now that the project is complete and has had a few weeks for the landscaping plants to settle in, it's looking really good.

When we added this extension on to the back of this home in west Frisco, we had to match and add bricks between the roofline support and the new columns at the front of the patio cover.

In this video Jonathan explains the process and the "soldier bricks" we used to create the brick accent where the roof extension meets the house.

We've entered the rough framing / electrical phase of this West Frisco backyard makeover. This project includes an outdoor kitchen, covered patio, and hardscaping elements, which you can see start to taking shape now.
