We recently completed a Rinnai tankless water heater replacement in Harlan Ranch in Clovis, California. The existing Rinnai had provided approximately 16 years of service before it failed—an impressive service life considering it reportedly had not received routine maintenance.

We removed the old unit and installed a new Rinnai RE180eN exterior natural gas tankless water heater on the outside garage wall.

The installation included:

✔ New Jones Stephens service valves for future flushing and maintenance
✔ New hard copper hot and cold water piping
✔ ProPress connections back to the existing plumbing
✔ Reconnection of the relief discharge line
✔ Insulation of the exterior hot and cold water lines
✔ Complete startup, air purge, and operational testing

Once everything was complete, we ran the faucets inside the home and confirmed the new system was producing hot water and operating properly.

Bradford White 50-Gallon Water Heater Installation in Clovis, CA
For this project, we installed a new Bradford White 50-gallon natural gas water heater and updated several of the surrounding plumbing and gas connections.

One of the improvements involved the existing gas piping, which extended farther from the wall than necessary. We reconfigured the line with a 90-degree turn for a cleaner installation closer to the wall, then installed a new gas shutoff valve and flexible gas connector.

The project also included:

✔ New cold-water shutoff valve
✔ New hot and cold water connectors
✔ New upper and lower seismic water heater strapping
✔ New connection from the T&P relief valve to the existing relief line
✔ Connection to the existing single-wall venting
✔ System startup, testing, and final temperature adjustment

Every water heater replacement is different. Existing gas piping, water connections, valves, venting, and other conditions all need to be considered when integrating new equipment into the home.
