Standing sentry at more than 9,000 feet on Jordan Peak and 8,000 feet on Mule Peak, these new Fire Lookout Towers strengthen wildfire preparedness across the Sequoia National Forest and surrounding Tule River Indian Reservation.

Replacing wooden towers lost to wildfire, the new metal lookouts honor the original 1936 designs while incorporating modern technology and structural solutions for their remote locations.

Perched on a cliffside and remote rock outcropping, these towers provide critical early wildfire detection, monitor lightning strikes, and help protect lives, natural resources, and communities.

Special thanks to J.I. Garcia Construction for their partnership and collaboration in delivering this vital design-build project.

Up, up, and away!

When a remote mountain location left no space for construction laydown, the solution required taking construction to new heights.

With limited space to build on site, a tower was constructed in the valley and then transported to its final installation location by a CH-47 Chinook helicopter.

From the valley floor to a remote mountain peak, this was a construction lift of sky-high proportions.

Some of the best team building happens beyond the office.

TETER coworkers recently spent the day hiking to Mirror Lake in Yosemite National Park. Group hikes like this bring our team together throughout the year and culminate in an annual Half Dome hike for those seeking a little extra elevation.

This National Park Week, we’re grateful for the incredible parks in our backyard and the opportunities they give us to get outside, support one another, and Be Connected.

At Mountain View TK–8, the work started with the District. Working alongside Panama-Buena Vista Union School District, the focus was on aligning educational goals, day‑to‑day operations, and long‑term needs into a campus that could grow with the community.

That partnership carried through every phase, with input from District leadership and staff shaping how the campus is organized, how it functions daily, and how it will be maintained over time.

The result is a TK–8 environment that reflects the District’s priorities and supports students, educators, and families now and into the future.

A new chapter is underway at Orosi High School!

Cutler-Orosi Joint Unified School District has broken ground on a new Career Technical Education building that will expand hands-on learning opportunities for students.

Today, we're proud to celebrate a remarkable milestone for Liz Contreras: becoming a licensed architect.

Liz's story is one that resonates far beyond TETER. Raised in Fresno as the daughter of immigrant farmworkers, she learned early the value of hard work, perseverance, and service to others. She was the first in her family to attend college, earning her degree from UC Berkeley before returning home to help shape the communities that helped shape her.

“Over the past eight years at TETER, Liz has grown tremendously, helping school districts throughout the valley create facilities that support students, teachers, and communities. Her commitment extends beyond her work, whether leading community outreach efforts, supporting families in need, or mentoring others, Liz consistently leads through service.” - Robert Thornton

Fewer than 3% of licensed architects are Latinas, making this achievement even more significant. As Liz shared in her own words, becoming "Arquitecta Contreras" represents years of sacrifice, determination, and support from those who believed in her.

Today, we celebrate not only her accomplishment, but what it represents for future generations across the Central Valley.

The Central Valley should be proud. We certainly are.
