🏈🎓 College Day at Darden!

Today we celebrated College Day at Darden and the unofficial kickoff to football season! Our team represents graduates and fans from several colleges and universities, but there’s no denying the Red Wave runs strong through our office! ❤️💙

We marked the occasion with plenty of school spirit, a team potluck and, most importantly, some good old-fashioned camaraderie.

Now the big question… who are you rooting for this season? 🏈🙌

👋 Welcome to the Team, Tyler!
We’re excited to welcome Tyler to Darden Architects!

A licensed architect and graduate of NewSchool of Architecture & Design in San Diego, Tyler is originally from Tulare and returned to the Central Valley after graduation to be closer to family and build his career here.

After gaining experience at a few other architecture firms throughout the Valley, Tyler found his way to Darden. He is drawn by something that has always mattered to him: design.

As Tyler put it, “Everyone knows a Darden design, and I wanted to be part of that team.”

We love hearing that. Welcome to Darden, Tyler! We’re glad to have you on the team and look forward to seeing the creativity and experience you bring to our projects.

🏋️‍♂️ Throwback Thursday: Building Bulldog Strength! 🐾

This , we’re going more than 30 years back to a Darden-designed project that continues to play an important role in supporting Fresno State student-athletes. The facility now known as the Ricchiuti Academic Strength & Conditioning Center.

Designed more than three decades ago to provide Bulldogs with a dedicated environment for training and development, the facility has supported generations of student-athletes and the hard work that happens behind the scenes to prepare for competition.

Athletic facilities are about more than equipment and workouts. They’re places that foster performance, discipline, teamwork, and the overall student-athlete experience.

More than 30 years later, it’s rewarding to see a Darden-designed facility continuing to serve Fresno State Athletics and the next generation of Bulldogs.

Go ’Dogs! 🐾💪

🎉 Welcome to Darden, Ivan!
We’re excited to welcome Ivan, our newest Designer, to the Darden Architects team!

A Central Valley native from Porterville, Ivan has spent the past three years in San Francisco and is happy to be back home in the Valley, where he’s looking forward to putting down roots and bringing his experience and perspective to Darden.

Ivan is a graduate of UC Berkeley, and when he’s not designing, you’ll likely find him enjoying two of his favorite sports, soccer and boxing. ⚽🥊

We’re glad to have you back in the Valley and on Team Darden, Ivan. Welcome aboard!

📐🚪 AIA San Joaquin is having a September Lunch & Learn!

AIA San Joaquin invites you to Designing for Automated Entrances, presented by Karl Sharlakian, West Regional Business Manager with Horton Automatics.

This AIA-certified presentation will explore the design and application of pedestrian automatic door systems, including automatic slide and swing doors, ADA-compliant operators, revolving and bifolding systems, activation and safety devices, and more. Attendees will also learn about ADA requirements, ANSI/BHMA standards, AAADM guidelines, NFPA 101 code compliance, egress, safety, and security considerations.

🎉🏫 A monumental day for Madera!

Darden Architects was honored to join Madera Unified School District and the community for the ribbon cutting of the brand-new King Husein School, a new TK–8 campus built for the students and families of Madera.

The community came out in a big way to celebrate this milestone, with students, families, elected officials, first responders, District leaders, project partners, and community members all gathering to mark the beginning of an exciting new chapter.

A special thank you to King Husein, longtime Madera resident and business owner, whose generous donation of the land helped make this new school possible. His investment in the community will have an impact on generations of Madera students.

Darden is proud to have partnered with Harris Construction and Madera Unified to bring this vision to life. Seeing the campus filled with students and surrounded by the community it was designed to serve made the celebration even more meaningful.

Congratulations to Madera Unified and the entire King Husein School community! 🎓✂️👏
