Career Spotlight: Project Manager

A construction project has a lot of moving parts. The Project Manager helps connect them.

From the client and design team to subcontractors, vendors and our own field team, PMs help keep information flowing and decisions moving throughout a project.

They manage budgets, contracts, procurement, schedules, documentation and client communication — while constantly looking ahead to identify challenges before they affect the work.

The best Project Managers aren't simply managing a project. They're building relationships, solving problems and creating the conditions for the entire project team to succeed.

If you're organized, curious, comfortable making decisions and enjoy bringing people together around a common goal, project management can offer a career where no two days — or projects — are exactly alike.

Every day, our team works to uphold rigorous safety standards, helping ensure everyone on site goes home safely. Part of that commitment is keeping our team members and subcontractors trained in fire prevention and emergency response.

On Fire Prevention Day, we honor the bravery and commitment of firefighters and recognize the partnerships we’ve built with local fire departments. Their willingness to train our team on active projects helps ensure our crews are prepared to take action when an emergency arises.

We’re grateful to the local fire departments that conduct training exercises at our active projects throughout New England and beyond. Their partnership strengthens our commitment to safety, not just as a priority, but as a core value we live every day.

October is Careers in Construction Month, and we're taking the opportunity to highlight some of the careers — and people — behind the buildings we create.

First up: Superintendent.

Superintendents are the leaders of our jobsites. They coordinate the day-to-day work in the field, keep safety and quality at the forefront, manage schedules and trade partners, solve problems as they arise, and keep the entire project moving forward.

But some of the most important parts of the job aren't found on a schedule or set of plans.

Great Superintendents communicate. They earn trust. They anticipate what's coming next. They hold people accountable while building strong teams. And when conditions change, because they always do in construction, they find a path forward.

For someone who enjoys leadership, problem-solving and seeing the tangible results of their work every day, a career as a Superintendent offers the opportunity to make an impact you can actually see.

From steel to finish, Hyundai of Westborough is taking shape.

EFIS installation is underway along the Service Drive and west elevation, while exterior painting is adding another layer of finish to the building. Inside, MEP, fire suppression, framing, and other scopes continue to move forward as site work progresses across the property.

With more of the building coming together every week, this project is entering an exciting new stage.

Every building tells a story.

On September 11, 2001, we were reminded in the most devastating way that buildings are more than steel, concrete and glass. They are workplaces, gathering places, landmarks and places where people spend their days building their futures.

For those of us in construction, that carries a responsibility. We don't simply build structures. We help create the places where people work, connect, serve their communities and grow.

Today, we remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless acts of courage and service that followed.

We will never forget.

A new chapter for Ashley in South Portland!

Yesterday, we joined Broad River Retail for the ribbon cutting of Ashley's new South Portland, ME location, celebrating the completion of this exciting project.
