Oftentimes the additional weight of the rain on the flowers will cause the stems to break. I went out this morning to assess the damage from yesterday's rain before more continues today.

It's sad to see beautiful flowers broken so I grab a basket and cut them. Then go to the next row and cut more. And the next until I end up with a basket of breathtaking beauty. 💗

Then I lay them out to dry and hopefully all the crawly creatures that were seeking shelter from the rain crawl out before bringing them inside.

I was able to pick a basket full of dahlias before the rain started this morning. 💜🧡🩷

It may be the last 70+ degree day of 2026 so it's a perfect time to take a walk through the dahlias.

I'm not a videographer, that's for sure! But I dogged all the bees!

This will be a great memory to watch in January! I hope you enjoy!

Lady Darlene dahlia.
She is a two-tone dinnerplate dahlia that starts buttery yellow and turns to a brilliant red.

Everytime I see this one, I call her Lady Diana to the tune of a Michael Jackson song. I just looked up the song and the actual title and word is Dirty Diana. 🤣 So, in true 80's song form, I got the lyrics wrong. 🤣

I think I refer to this one as Lady Diana because she is just a majestic natural beauty that draws you in and you can't help but fall in love with her.

Happy and beautiful Sunday to you all.
