When I paint, I imagine each mark to be an individual belonging to a family or social structure within each piece. My expressionist style seeks to capture relationships within the whole. Rejecting the notions of kitsch and conflict, I envision my work as being alive, assigning anthropomorphic qualities to each natural form or signature soft square object. I refer to my technique as "fore and aft a

crylic painting." By working on the front and reverse sides of my acrylic substrates, I manipulate transparency, reflection, and texture, causing light to navigate its way through the piece and back to the viewer. I have studied under Alan Alldredge, a master of digital mixed media since 2009. With constant access to our advanced studio and my prior training as an auto paint technician, I have been fortunate enough for my work to quickly grow in maturity.
