Another successful drainage restoration by the team at Mid-State Sewer Service!

At this job, we used our hydro jetter and sewer camera system to clean out underground gutter drain lines that gravity feed out into the customer’s yard. Over time, shingle granules from the roof and heavy tree root intrusion had completely plugged the lines, causing poor drainage and water backup issues.

Using high-pressure hydro jetting, we were able to cut through the roots, flush the debris from the line, and verify proper flow with our camera system.

We’d like to wish a very Happy Birthday to our Foreman, Steve, who turns the big 3-6 today!

Steve has been part of Mid-State Sewer Service for nearly a year, but our friendship goes back almost 14 years. When people say friends become family, this is exactly what they mean.

Steve goes above and beyond every single day — both at work and at home. Whether he’s giving estimates, cleaning drains, pumping septic tanks, or handling excavation work, he always gives 100% and takes pride in doing the job right. His dedication, work ethic, and willingness to help others never go unnoticed.

Today Steve and AJ were able to repair a failing septic drain line running from the home to the septic tank. Unfortunately, the previous contractor had replaced this same line only 4–5 years ago, but it was not installed correctly, causing the pipe to settle and create a belly in the line that led to constant issues for the homeowner.

Using our laser transit, we ensured the new line had the proper fall from start to finish. We installed new 4” Schedule 40 PVC in a properly compacted trench and backfilled it with stone to create a solid, long-lasting foundation.

We recently received a call from a repeat customer to undertake another project. This time, the issue was a sinkhole that had begun forming approximately two to three years ago, which they had been attempting to rectify by adding fill to maintain the grade. Utilizing our excavator, we excavated to a depth of 4 feet and discovered an abandoned farm tile that was misaligned, allowing dirt to accumulate inside. We successfully capped both ends to prevent any future issues and backed filled the excavation, leaving no mess behind.

Another successful day at Mid-State Sewer Service! Our crew excavated and removed a section of old clay tile in order to clear a large tree root intrusion from the storm line.

Once the blockage was removed, we installed a new cleanout for easier future maintenance and properly backfilled the area. We were able to complete the repair while keeping restoration to a minimum, leaving the property looking great when the job was finished.
