Did you know this sink-cabinet option exists?

The cabinet box—except for the traditional face frame and doors—is made from a water-resistant synthetic material. This provides added protection in one of the kitchen’s most vulnerable areas, where plumbing leaks, moisture, and cleaning-product spills can damage ordinary wood cabinetry.

It’s a smart option worth knowing about and considering when planning a new kitchen.

Every great project begins with a strong foundation and a shared vision.

This was our first walkthrough of what would become an incredible outdoor kitchen. Before templating, we carefully inspected the entire structure to make sure it was level, solid, and ready to properly support the weight of the stone.

From here, we would take the digital measurements, fabricate every countertop section, and prepare for the installation—while the contractor continued with the beautiful stone façade.

Even at this early stage, we could already imagine the family gatherings, celebrations, and meals that would take place here for many years to come.

Beautiful work begins long before the finished photographs. It begins with planning, communication, and attention to every detail.

A farmhouse sink must be installed correctly before the countertop ever arrives.

The sink belongs to the cabinetry and must be fully supported by it—not by the countertop. Setting the sink approximately 1/16 inch below the cabinet allows room for silicone and helps the countertop sit flat and level.

This small detail can protect the countertop seam, reduce unnecessary stress, and create a stronger, longer-lasting installation.

Proper coordination between the cabinet installer, countertop fabricator, and plumber makes all the difference.

A countertop over a dishwasher may weigh around 65 pounds—and it needs proper support.

When a dishwasher sits next to an end panel, the carpentry must be level and reinforced in the right places before installation. That prevents flexing, eliminates the “trampoline effect,” and allows the countertop to sit securely and look right.

At Falco Marble & Granite, we inspect the details because proper preparation makes all the difference.

A countertop is only as strong as the support underneath it. When a dishwasher sits beside a refrigerator panel, level wood supports must be installed along the side and back so the stone has a solid place to rest.

This prevents flexing—the “trampoline effect”—and helps ensure a clean, secure installation. At Falco Marble & Granite, we identify and verify these important details before installing the countertop.

A farmhouse sink can look perfect and still create problems if the space behind it isn’t planned correctly.

You need enough room for the faucet, enough clearance for the handle to move, and enough working space underneath for the plumber to install everything properly.

These are small details, but they can make a big difference once the kitchen is finished.

At Falco Marble & Granite, we plan these details before the countertop is fabricated.

Most homeowners never see this detail—but it matters.

An undermount sink opening should be cut slightly smaller than the sink itself. That small difference helps keep the silicone seal protected and creates a cleaner, more secure installation.

It may only be about 1/8", but details like this should be planned before the countertop is fabricated.

At Falco Marble & Granite, these are the details we think about before anything is cut.

Choosing a farmhouse sink? Don’t forget about the faucet.

The distance between the sink, faucet, and backsplash matters more than most homeowners realize. If the faucet is positioned too close to the backsplash, the handle may not have enough room to move properly when adjusting the temperature.

It’s a small detail—but it needs to be planned before the countertop is fabricated.

At Falco Marble & Granite, we help our customers think through these details before anything is cut.
