The Warner Team is saddened to announce the passing of Dennis Nalley on March 20, 2025. We extend our heartfelt condolences to his family and loved ones.
Dennis had a distinguished 32-year career as a federal firefighter and EMT with the Fort Detrick Fire Department, retiring in 2021. He also served as a lifetime member of the First Hose Company in Boonsboro, where his commitment to helping others shone brightly. Dennis was affectionately known as "Huck" within his firefighter family. In recent years, he joined the private sector as the Safety Manager at R.W. Warner, where he continued his legacy of service and care.
In 2019, Dennis Nalley, known to the Warner family as "Denny" became one of Warner’s Safety Professionals. From the moment he joined, Denny dedicated himself to ensuring the safety of every employee, sharing his vast experience as a firefighter, training others, and serving as a mentor to many.
Denny had a rare gift; his influence wasn’t about citing OSHA standards or policies. Instead, he had a genuine way of showing people he cared. He went above and beyond for his team, always putting others before himself. To him, safety wasn’t just a job, it was personal.
The word “team” meant everything to Denny, not just at work but in life. A true sports fan, he lived for the Ravens, Orioles, and Capitals, always keeping up with the latest scores and making sure to ask, “What’d you think of that game?” His passion for people was just as strong. No matter who you were, he made the effort to greet you with a fist bump, ask how you were doing, or check if you needed anything.
When Denny visited job sites, it wasn’t just about business, it was about building relationships. He took a genuine interest in people’s lives, always knowing the right thing to say, the best advice to give, or the perfect joke to lighten the mood.
Even on his days off, Denny was thinking about ways to improve the safety of his team. He would write down ideas and come in on Monday ready to share them, always looking for ways to make a difference.
Denny’s presence was a light in the lives of those who knew him. His kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his team will never be forgotten. He made safety more than responsibility; he made it a shared commitment built on care, trust, and heart.
Rest easy, Denny. Your impact will live on in all of us.
A celebration of Dennis’ life will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at the Boonsboro Volunteer Fire Department, 5 Saint Paul St., Boonsboro, MD 21713.
