Do you own an EV?
Do you charge at home?
Is your charging setup safe and efficient?
Do you have Level 2 charging?
We were called to a house this week for an issue where our customer had lost power to their garage and bathroom outlets after using their regular outlets to charge the car.
Did you know that in a lot of older homes the garage outlet is tied to the bathroom or basement outlets?
Did you know that in these situations this circuit is likely only a 15-amp circuit?
This customer experienced issues because their garage outlets and bathroom outlets were all connected, by "back-stabbing" the outlets, and on a 15-amp circuit. This setup worked fine until it didn't. The continued usage of charging the EV caused the wiring in the back of the outlet to overheat and damage the outlet and the wiring while causing issues with the remainder of the circuit.
Call us today to inspect your EV charging setup and make sure your home is safe and efficient.

We offer multiple options for charging and even have options if your electrical service is smaller and would normally need an upgrade.
