An ode to the enduring charm of farmhouse detailing...
 
In the days before modern machinery, every detail of a farmhouse was crafted by hand. The time, skill, and resources it required to accent a house with decorative millwork and other architectural details showcased the success of the homeowner. Today, classic styles of decorative millwork in foyers and living rooms, on staircases and balusters, and in the form of casing, trim, cornices, and other interior and exterior detailing harken back to those days.

Period Perspectives: Overcreek Farm Fire Restoration.
 
After a devastating fire claimed much of this beloved c. 1800 West Chester farmhouse, its story now enters a new chapter. Over the course of generations, the property evolved from an active horse farm into the family home where the current owners raised their children. Inspired by resilience, stewardship, and tradition, our design seeks to rebuild the historic heart of the farmstead while reimagining portions lost to the fire.
 
Respecting the original foundation footprint, the addition draws upon period precedent and the undeniable character of the surviving structure. With the family’s cherished memories and traditions as a guide, the design aims to recapture the sense of place, comfort, and continuity that made Overcreek Farm a beloved residence for centuries.

Before & After: 1927 Historic District Residence.
 
Set within the historic Main Line neighborhood of South Wayne, this stone home underwent a carefully considered renovation and addition to strengthen its architectural presence while improving livability.
 
After the removal of a deteriorating rear addition, the stone shell of the original home remained to ensure the regional character was retained. The two-story sunroom was reimagined and rebuilt to provide more sound structure, additional weather protection, and a higher level of detailed millwork. The result is a revitalized family residence that honors its origins, restores clarity to its composition, and accommodates contemporary lifestyles.
