Good morning and Happy Mother's day everyone! I just opened the stand and restocked a few jars. Thank you so much to all the folks who came by yesterday and Friday in support of the Leipers Fork Public Library. ALL of the proceeds from sales from Friday, Saturday and today (Mother's day 05/10) will be donatedto the library, so if you still need something special for Mom or are out with her enjoying a drive in the country, we are here for you.
New to our stand are QUAIL EGGS supplied by Tim Woodard of Dickson. We also have quail eggs scissors available which are very helpful if you cook with these eggs often. Quail eggs are great pickled and many people who are allergic to chicken eggs can eat them. Because they are small, you can use them as a pizza topping. They are stashed in the cooler along with chocolate covered strawberries, blueberry cobbler and cherry cobbler. We love to eat our cobbler heated with vanilla ice cream. The chocolate covered strawberries are garnished with edible flowers from the foodscape to make them pretty for Mom.
We are the Bubba Gump of strawberry jam lately because of the abundance of local strawberries. Strawberry rhubarb, strawberry banana, strawberry black pepper and Christmas jam are just a few of our strawberry goodies in jars. If Mom can't handle seeds, we have a variety of delicious jellies including a new black plum blackberry jelly, muscadine grape jelly and mulled cider jelly. If Mom prefers more savory goods, check out our selection of pickled veggies. Does she like spicy? How about cowboy candy, pineapple mango habanero salsa or spicy pickled pineapple? Everything except the quail eggs is made here.
Enjoy the day everyone! We are are 5736 Pinewood Road Franklin TN (Leipers Fork area just east of the 840 exit). Cash or venmo. Please feel free to park and turn around on the lawn in front of the farmstand. Don't forget to bring back your jar for $1 off your next purchase.

Your Mom would like one of these, and yes the flower and leaf are edible.

Exciting news! #1 Since the Leipers Fork Public Library Branch is having its annual bake sale fundraiser this Saturday May the 9th, we will not only donate some of our jars to their sale, we will also donate ALL THE PROCEEDS from the sales from our farmstand from 9am on Friday 05/08 through when we close after dark on Sunday (Mother's day) 05/10. That is right. I said ALL. Why? Because we believe it is important to invest in the education of your community, and reading is fundamental.
#2 We are adding a cooler to the farmstand this weekend. This will allow us to offer limited quantities of fresh produce and herbs plus occasional baked goods. Some assembly was required. Almost done.... We will set it out tomorrow. But also there is more!
#3 In our new cooler we will offer fresh quail eggs from local farmer, Tim Woodard.
Stay tuned for more posts about goods to be offered at the farmstand this weekend. I plan on making chocolate covered strawberries and baking something special in honor of the occasion. Maybe Mom would like a jam sampler?. Does she like pickled veggies? We have a stunning variety of treats in jars that make great gifts for Mom or anyone else you love.
We are located at 5736 Pinewood Road, Franklin TN (Leipers Fork area) We are located on the left if you are headed to Leipers Fork village from 840 and on the right if you are coming from Leipers Fork village or the Natchez Trace. Cash or venmo. Bring back your jar to get $1 off next time. Please feel free to park and turn around in front of the farmstand.

Such a pretty and peaceful morning in the foodscape. The farmstand is ready to greet you this morning. Need something worthy to smear on a piece of incredible sourdough bread you bought from another farmstand? We got you! I have been jammin' like crazy now that local strawberries and hoop house veggies are available. I think I might become the Bubba Gump of strawberry jam. So far I have strawberry rhubarb jam, strawberry lemon marmalade, Christmas jam and last night I made strawberry black pepper jam. What's next? Strawberry jelly? Strawberry margarita jam? Strawberry basil jam? Strawberry banana jam? Also looking at recipes for Maple Strawberry Smooch (which I made last year) and Sundae in a Jar. I could go on. What would you like to try?
