Job Title: Heavy Machinery Mechanic
Location: 3771 S US Highway 31 Franklin, IN 46131
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Machinery Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair various types of heavy equipment and fleet trucks, including excavators, bulldozers, loaders, and service vehicles. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, diagnostic ability, and hands-on repair skills.

Key Responsibilities:
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues in heavy equipment and fleet trucks.

Perform routine maintenance and inspections to ensure equipment and vehicles operate efficiently and safely.

Repair or replace faulty components such as engines, transmissions, brakes, pumps, and hydraulics.

Conduct tests to confirm repairs and ensure machinery and trucks operate within manufacturer specifications.

Maintain accurate records of maintenance, repairs, and parts used.

Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, organized work environment.

Operate equipment and vehicles as needed for testing or movement within yard/shop.

Communicate with supervisors and operators about machinery and vehicle condition and needed repairs.

Requirements:
High school diploma or GED; vocational training or certifications in heavy equipment or diesel repair preferred.

Strong understanding of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.

Ability to read technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.

Proficient with hand and power tools, diagnostic equipment, and welding tools.

Physical ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work in confined spaces, and stand for long periods.

Valid driver’s license; CDL is a plus.

Work Environment:
Shop-based and occasional fieldwork in outdoor or construction environments.

Exposure to weather, noise, and moving mechanical parts.
