🌲 A little update from Precise Tree Care! 🌲

It’s been a while since we’ve posted an update, and while we are definitely NOT caught up yet 😂, we are finally starting to switch tracks a little!

We are still working on storm damage and still have storm-related projects in our queue, but our arborists are now beginning to make their way back to the non-storm-related requests that have been patiently waiting while we worked through the enormous amount of damage from this summer’s storms.

And believe us, there are A LOT of you waiting! 😂 Our queue is still incredibly full, so it’s going to take us some time to get caught up. We’re just going to keep plugging away, one property at a time, like we have been all summer. 🌲

This season has truly been like nothing we’ve ever experienced. We cannot thank everyone enough who has patiently waited for us, continued to choose Precise Tree Care, recommended us to friends and neighbors, sent kind words to our staff, and supported our team throughout all of this chaos.

We know the wait has been much longer than anyone is accustomed to, and the amount of patience, kindness and loyalty our customers have shown us has meant more than you know. 💚

We still have a LOT of work ahead of us, but we’re here, we’re working, and we’re going to keep plugging away!

Thank you for sticking with us through one absolutely CRAZY season. We truly appreciate every single one of you! 🌲💚

🌲 STORM UPDATE: WE’RE FINALLY MAKING A DENT! 🌲

What. A. Summer. 😅

Since the storms began, our small office team alone has handled 10,000+ texts, 5,000+ phone calls, and thousands of emails and online requests, while our crews, arborists and office staff have worked six and seven days a week.

PHEW! 😅

We are still working exclusively on storm damage, and regular tree work remains on hold. BUT… for the first time, we can finally see a real dent in that storm-damage queue! 🙌🌲

We’ve started circling back to more of the non-urgent storm requests that had to wait while we worked through the most hazardous situations. If you recently received a text asking you to confirm you still need an arborist, please respond! We’re even sending final follow-ups because we’d rather bother you one more time than have anyone think we forgot about them. 💚

We still have hundreds of storm-related requests and plenty of work ahead, but after more than two months, that light at the end of the tunnel is finally getting a little brighter!

Thank you to everyone who has shown our team patience, kindness and grace through this absolutely CRAZY storm season. We appreciate you more than you know! 💚🌲

And Steve, aka Cookie Man… you are STILL our favorite customer! Sorry, not sorry!🍪😂💚

🍪 The Cookie Man strikes again!!! And these may officially be the BEST snickerdoodles we’ve ever had. Seriously, how does this man not have his own bakery?! 😂

This was such a welcome treat for our team as we keep on keeping on through the aftermath of these incredible storms.

The calls, texts, and emails are still coming in by the hundreds each day. In fact, the call volume is still so overwhelming that we haven’t been able to return to answering our phones normally yet. Our crews are working incredibly long days, sometimes until 9:30 or 10:00 at night, and our office team has been starting early and staying late, as some of you receiving texts from us at 6:00 a.m. or 11:00 p.m. have probably noticed!

We continue to do as much as we possibly can for as many people as we possibly can. If there is a way we can help, that’s what we want to do.

But through all of this, YOU have been taking care of us, too. ❤️

The care packages, homemade treats, adorable and sweet text messages, funny memes, and words of encouragement have meant more to our team than we can explain. During some very long days, you’ve made us laugh, smile, and reminded us just how fortunate we are to serve the communities we do.

We truly have the BEST customers out there.

And we want to say this, too. If you needed help and ultimately had to go somewhere else because we simply couldn’t get to you quickly enough, we understand. Completely. There are absolutely no hard feelings. After storms like these, sometimes you have to do what you have to do to protect your home and property.

Hopefully, under much better and far less stressful circumstances, we’ll have the opportunity to work together in the future. 🌳

For now, we’ll keep on keeping on, responding to messages, assessing properties, running crews, and doing everything we possibly can to help our communities get back to normal.

And apparently, we’ll keep eating cookies, too. Somebody has to do it. 😉🍪🌲

🍫 Homemade Brownies, Another Power Outage, and We’re Still Going! 🌲

Well, apparently Shannon Millhouse knew EXACTLY what kind of day we were having. 😂

A HUGE thank you to Shannon, one of our awesome customers, who stopped by today with homemade brownies! And let me tell you, the timing could not have been better.

Our power was already out while ComEd worked on repairs to the lines down the road, so we were back to doing everything from laptops and cell phones. Because apparently nothing says “just another day at Precise Tree Care lately” quite like running the office without power while the phones are still ringing off the hook. 😂

And then Shannon walked in with homemade brownies.

If there was ever a right time to show up with chocolate, THIS WAS IT. 🍫😂

Thankfully, we can work just about anywhere at this point. Give us laptops, cell phones, a hotspot, and apparently a pan of brownies, and we’ll figure it out!

Speaking of the phones, they are STILL ringing off the hook. Because of the sheer volume of calls coming in, we are continuing to have our answering service handle our phones full time. Text and email are honestly the best ways to reach us right now. It makes it much easier for our office team to work through everything in the order it was received and make sure nobody gets lost in the craziness.

And since we’re talking about the craziness, we want to be completely transparent about where things stand.

We ARE still accepting new requests. However, we are prioritizing the most urgent and hazardous situations first, along with our current and returning customers. If you’re brand new to Precise Tree Care, we are absolutely happy to add you to our queue, but please understand that there may be quite a wait. We already have weeks’ worth of properties waiting for our arborists to assess, and every time we start feeling like we’re making some headway, Mother Nature seems to throw another wrench, or perhaps the entire toolbox, into our plans. 🤦‍♀️🌪️🌳

But here’s the important part…

If you reach out, want to stay in our queue, and are willing to wait, WE WILL GET TO YOU!

Our arborists, crews, and office team are putting in some incredibly long days right now, and we’re doing the best we can to help as many people as possible while making sure the most dangerous situations are taken care of first.

To everyone who has been patient, understanding, encouraging, or has simply told us, “Take care of the people who need you most first, I’ll wait,” THANK YOU. You have no idea how much those little bits of kindness mean to our team right now.

And Shannon…thank you again for the homemade brownies. You may have single handedly saved office morale during today’s power outage. 😂🍫🌲

Another incredibly generous friend of Precise just had FOUR GALLONS of McAlister’s Deli lemonade delivered to our office! 🍋💚

Between the homemade cookies, brownies, donuts, and now enough lemonade to keep the entire office hydrated, you guys are seriously spoiling us. 😂 We cannot tell you how much these little acts of kindness have meant to our team during the past few weeks.

We are exhausted. We are dragging. We are still VERY behind on getting back to everyone. Although, at this point, some of that may be because everyone keeps bringing us snacks and we have to stop working long enough to eat them. 😂

But we are still here, still answering, still scheduling, still dispatching crews, and still keeping at it… while currently listening to the lovely sound of dripping because apparently our office roof has decided it would also like to participate in the storm damage. 🤦‍♀️🌧️

We have NOT forgotten about you.

Our phones have quite literally not stopped ringing since the storms. To allow our office staff to actually work through the enormous backlog of requests, our phone lines are currently being routed to our answering service full time.

We ARE responding to texts, emails, and answering service messages in the order they are received so that we can keep things as fair as possible.

If you contacted us before today and still have not heard from us, please check your texts and email first, including your spam or junk folder. If there is still nothing from us, please send us one text or one email so we can make sure your request did not slip through the cracks.

We know waiting is frustrating. We know many of you are dealing with damaged trees, damaged homes, debris everywhere, and properties that still don’t look like themselves. Our crews and office staff are working incredibly hard to help as many people as we possibly can, while prioritizing the most dangerous and hazardous situations first.

We are one company, with one very tired team, trying our absolute best to help our communities recover from an unbelievable amount of damage.

Thank you for your patience. Thank you for your grace. Thank you for checking on us. And apparently, thank you for keeping us fed and hydrated! 😂💚🌳

We’re still here. We’re still going. And we’ll keep going. 💪🌳

🍪 UPDATE: THE COOKIE MAN STRIKES AGAIN! 🍫😂

At this point, we may need to give Steve Wolcott his own parking spot.

After already spoiling us with multiple batches of his amazing homemade cookies, The Cookie Man showed up AGAIN… except this time, HE BROUGHT BROWNIES.

And you guys… THESE BROWNIES. 🤤

They practically melt in your mouth. We’re not entirely sure how we’re supposed to get any work done when Steve keeps showing up with things like this, but we’re willing to persevere. 😂

In all seriousness, Steve, you have been so incredibly thoughtful to our team during what has been an exhausting few weeks. The treats are absolutely delicious, but the fact that you continue thinking of all of us means even more.

Thank you, Cookie Man! 💚🌳

🍪🍩 Okay, our customers are officially spoiling us!

We recently learned that Steve Wolcott is apparently well known as “The Cookie Man” in his neighborhood, and now we completely understand why! After already treating us to his incredible homemade cookies, Steve showed up with another batch yesterday. We’re starting to think he knows exactly how to keep a storm weary tree crew and office team going! 😂💚

And then today, Diane Gabriel surprised us with a box of delicious donuts from Fleckenstein’s Bakery! One of our favorite local bakeries!

Between the homemade cookies, donuts, kind messages, patience, and words of encouragement we’ve received, we continue to be reminded just how fortunate we are to have the customers and community that we do.

Our entire team has been working some very long days as we continue responding to the tremendous amount of storm damage throughout our area, and gestures like these mean more than you probably realize. Sometimes a cookie, a donut, or simply someone saying, “We know you guys are doing your best,” is exactly the little boost someone needs to keep going.

Steve and Diane, THANK YOU for thinking of us and for keeping the Precise Tree Care team very well fed! 😂🌳💚

We truly do have the most awesome customers. And at this rate, we may need to add “snack coordinator” to somebody’s job description. 🍪🍩

🌳 A Storm Response Update From Precise Tree Care

We want to take a moment to give everyone an honest update about where things currently stand.

Yes, Precise Tree Care is still accepting new customers and new storm damage requests. If you need our help and are willing to wait for us, we are happy to add you to our queue.

But we also need to be transparent: the wait may be significant.

Our communities have been hit incredibly hard by multiple rounds of severe weather, including tornadoes and straight line winds throughout July and August. We are still assessing and cleaning up damage from previous storms while an enormous amount of new damage continues to come in.

And the calls are pouring in.

Since the most recent storms, our phones, emails, texts, and answering service have been overwhelmed with requests. At times, we have had one or two new messages coming in every minute. Our office staff is doing everything possible to respond to everyone, but when that many people need help at once, it takes time.

If you have contacted us and are waiting for a response, please know we are trying to get to you. And yes, you may receive a response from us late at night or early in the morning. Our office team is working outside of our normal hours whenever we can in an effort to respond to everyone who has reached out.

We are one local company. We have a limited number of arborists, crews, trucks, and hours in a day, and every one of them is working incredibly hard right now.

How are we prioritizing?

Right now, the most urgent and dangerous situations have to come first.

Trees on homes. Limbs causing structural damage. Trees threatening to fall onto structures. Blocked driveways or necessary access. Situations presenting an immediate safety concern.

We are also prioritizing our returning customers who have trusted Precise Tree Care with their properties over the years.

From there, we will continue working our way through situations where access is blocked and then into the less urgent storm cleanup.

If your tree or branches are safely on the ground, it may be a while.

We know that’s frustrating. You may have to mow around debris for a little while. You may have to avoid a portion of your yard. Your property may not look the way you want it to right now.

But when the choice is between cleaning up branches lying safely in someone’s yard and helping a family with a tree threatening their home, we have to take care of the dangerous situation first.

If you’re waiting for an arborist…

You have not been forgotten.

We may not be able to tell you exactly when we’ll get there. In many cases, we genuinely don’t know yet. The situation changes every day as new hazards are reported and our crews work through the existing ones.

If your situation becomes more dangerous while you’re waiting, please let us know. That information matters and helps our arborists prioritize appropriately.

If you have already had another company assess or complete the work, please let us know that too.

Our arborists’ time is extremely valuable right now. Driving to a property only to discover that the work has already been taken care of means another customer who is still waiting could have received that time instead.

And please understand, this isn’t just Precise Tree Care.

The entire tree care industry in our area is stretched incredibly thin. Companies everywhere are working at or beyond capacity, and many have stopped accepting new customers altogether.

We haven’t.

We’re still answering.

We’re still adding people to our queue.

We’re still sending arborists out.

Our crews are still working.

And we’re going to keep helping as many people as we safely and reasonably can.

But we are also human. Our team is tired. This has been overwhelming. We have experienced days where what would normally represent weeks, or even months, worth of requests has come pouring in almost at once.

We are doing our very best, but with this kind of volume, a call may take longer to return. An email may not receive an immediate response. Something may occasionally need a second follow up.

We appreciate a little patience and grace while our team works through an extraordinary situation.

This cleanup is going to take time.

Our communities didn’t sustain this amount of damage overnight, and none of the tree companies serving them can clean it all up overnight either.

For now, our priority is making our communities safe.

The cleanup will follow.

To our customers and neighbors who have been patient, kind, and understanding with our office staff, arborists, and crews: thank you.

It means more to our team right now than you probably realize. 💚🌳
