: How often should trees be inspected?

Here in New England, our trees deal with a lot: nor’easters, heavy wet snow, ice storms, and summer droughts. That’s why we recommend having an ISA-Certified Arborist inspect your established trees once a year, especially the big, mature ones near your home or driveway. Routine pruning is typically needed every 3–5 years, depending on the species and condition of the tree.

Some signs mean you shouldn’t wait for your annual check:

✔️A tree that has started to lean
✔️ Early leaf drop, discoloration, or thinning
✔️Fungal growth, peeling bark, or insect activity
✔️Upcoming construction or digging near the roots

When a new electrical line had to run through this bed, DJ and Tim grabbed the instead of a shovel. Compressed air clears away the soil without cutting through roots, so the surrounding trees and plants barely notice we were there. is a sap-feeding insect that shows up as raised, tan-to-brown bumps along the branches. Left alone, it can cause sticky honeydew, black sooty mold, yellowing leaves, and branch dieback.
