🌱 Did you overseed your lawn with ryegrass this fall? The next 2–3 weeks are everything.

Ryegrass seed sits right at the soil surface — it can't pull moisture from deep down because it doesn't have roots yet. If it dries out even once during germination, you'll end up with thin, patchy coverage no matter how much seed you put down.

The fix? Short, frequent watering cycles that keep the soil surface consistently moist until the seed takes — then a gradual transition to deeper, less frequent watering as the grass establishes.

But here's the catch: even perfect watering can't fix uneven sprinkler coverage. A single misaligned head or clogged nozzle will leave dry spots in your ryegrass that stand out all winter long.
