Almost a really bad day today! I wasn't paying attention when I was ripping 2" black walnut. The top of my middle finger touched the table saw blade as I was pushing the board through. I was lucky. Just a blade width groove cut across the top. It didn't go very deep but still made me yelp..
My fault! I did not pay attention to exactly where my finger was and learned a valuable lesson! Thank God it wasn't worse.

Keep your fingers away from sharp, stabby, cutty things!

It's been a while since I've built a countertop. I guess I've still got it. From rough cut lumber to the glue and clamps in 6 hours..

After the installation of new entry doors my client told her husband that her house was finally her dream home. And that folks is what it's all about. I have never had a job that offered a sense of fulfillment like woodworking does. It almost feels as good as the paycheck. Almost. Lol

This happens over and over. If I am building door slabs only and they are flat and square why can't the contractor that built the house install the original frame square? It doesn't matter if the house is 1 year old or 30 years old. Nothing is square, plumb or level!!!!! Floors, walls and door frames!!!! It's pathetic! The garbage I see on a regular basis is mind boggling... Contractors do better!!!!!!!!!
I've even removed old frames that had no fasteners, just the trim held the door.

Living that antique truck life..... My fuel tank is located behind my seat. Yesterday my helper and I smelled a lot of gas on the way home. Flared fitting on the fuel line was leaking. So far reseating it hasn't helped. I guess it's time to make a new one.
