Cancellation Policy

At Lone Star Glass and Gutter, we understand that schedules can change, and we do our best to accommodate our clients’ needs. As a small business, last-minute cancellations or rescheduling can significantly impact our team and operations. To ensure fairness for both our employees and our clients, we have the following policy in place:

24 Business Hours’ Notice Required – If y

ou need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, we request at least 24 business hours’ notice before your scheduled time. Late Rescheduling or Cancellation – If a client reschedules or cancels less than 24 business hours before their appointment, or if the work could otherwise be performed as scheduled, a deposit will be required to hold a new date. The deposit is either $100.00 or 50% of the total service cost, whichever is greater. This deposit is non-refundable, however the deposit will be applied to the total service cost on the day of your appointment. Why This Policy? This policy is not meant as a penalty but rather a way to protect the time and effort of our dedicated team and ensure we can continue providing quality service to all of our clients. Last-minute changes make it difficult for us to fill appointment slots, impacting both our employees and other customers who may be waiting for an opening. We appreciate your understanding. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thank you for choosing our family to serve yours!

There’s something special about seeing every bit of Texas sky reflected in a freshly cleaned window!

As Summer slowly gives way to Fall, those bright blue skies, soft white clouds, and changing light remind us how much beauty there is right outside our own homes, especially when the windows are clean enough to let you truly enjoy the view.

If you’re ready to welcome the changing season with a brighter, cleaner home, send us a message for a free estimate and let our local team take care of the windows!

My 4 year old daughter is READY for fall and spooky season. I imagine a lot of us feel the same. 😅 It's hard when it's 105 and we're definitely still hanging out in the 100 degree weather phase for the foreseeable future. But there are faint whispers of the shift coming. Pumpkin flavored groceries, a HomeGoods autumnal decor eruption, a random evening breeze, and I even noticed that sunlight is hitting different.

We're still spending a fair amount of time indoors due to heat, but don't let dirty windows ruin your view of that softened, more golden light. I'm sure many of you have glass that took a hit in all the summer chaos and fun, what with extra smudges from kids and whatnot.

Professionally cleaned windows is just the thing to help set your home in order as you prepare for the next season. I know everything feels dry, crunchy, hot, and tired, but fall IS coming. And now is the perfect time to get that project scheduled and done so you're ready to make over your home with all the pumpkin festivity. 😉🎃

Our team at Lone Star Glass and Gutter is ready to make your home even more lovely as we all look forward to fall!

For a free estimate or to go ahead and book with us, please call or text my husband James at (682) 309-2829

There’s no better compliment than a homeowner telling us we made their busy life a little easier! ⭐

Tyler trusted our team to clean both the inside and outside of his Aledo home’s windows, and we’re incredibly grateful that he took the time to share how professional, thorough, and flexible our team was.

If you’re ready for spotless windows without adding another chore to your busy schedule, send us a message and let’s get you on the calendar!

After discovering Grounds & Gold Co. a month or so ago, I simply cannot get enough of the coffee, the vibes, and the message!

Had to bring the wife for a weekend brunch date so she could experience it too.

Grounds and Gold Co, keep doing what you're doing! It's working.

We made it to 100 reviews, y'all! 🥳 Thank you for your trust in our small business. It's no small thing when someone takes a moment in all the hubbub of life (and we know it's extra crazy right now with getting everyone settled back into school!) to write a thoughtful review. The kind words keep us going and it absolutely helps us as we build our business up.

So if you have a moment to spare, have you had a fantastic experience with a local arborist, a great cut from a stylist, or the best pick-me-up from a small coffee shop? Make their day, boost their algorithm odds, and leave that review! ❤

And if you're noticing all those sweet handprints and smudges on your windows with kids going back to school, reach out to Lone Star Glass and Gutter! Our team would be happy to help give your home a fresh start for the school year with professionally cleaned windows.

Call or text my husband James at (682) 309-2829 to get a free estimate, ask any questions, or snag a spot on our books!

I was featured in an article for American Window Cleaner Magazine a couple months back as a 'cautionary tale' after my ladder fall. I thought I'd post the article below. 💜

One Step. One miss. One moment that changes everything.

James Smith didn’t plan on becoming a story.

Like most window cleaners, he was just out there doing the work. Building something. Providing for his family. Putting in the kind of effort that doesn’t get talked about much outside of this industry.

Back in 2018, James made the decision a lot of us have made. He walked away from a career that was going nowhere and bet on himself. Alongside his wife, he built Lone Star Glass and Gutter in Fort Worth, Texas from the ground up. What started as a leap of faith turned into steady growth, a small team, and a business that supported his family for nearly eight years.

Like many owners, James had a vision of what was next. Step out of the field. Build a team. Put a foreman in place. Focus on networking, estimating, and growing the business instead of carrying it on his back. But like a lot of us... he wasn’t in a rush.

Then Friday the 13th hit.

The day started off wrong. The kind of morning where things just don’t click. A small mistake in the kitchen turned into a broken casserole dish, and by the time James got to the job, he already felt off. Distracted. A little rushed. Not fully locked in.

Still, the work had to get done.

He set his extension ladder on a grassy slope. A setup he’d done before. One small detail got missed. The ladder feet were still set for flat surfaces instead of being flipped to the teeth designed for grass and dirt. A two second fix. A two second mistake.

As he started to climb, the ladder shifted. For a split second, he thought it might catch. It didn’t. The ladder slid out from under him, sending him 10 to 12 feet down while still on it. He hit the ground thinking maybe it wasn’t that bad. It didn’t feel terrible right away. But the moment he tried to put weight on his foot, he knew something wasn’t right.

What followed was a blur. Urgent care visits. X-rays. Hunting down an orthopedic specialist on a weekend. More scans. More questions. A fractured wrist that would require surgery. Multiple fractures in his foot. Weeks of recovery ahead.

And just like that, everything changes.

The work doesn’t stop. The bills don’t stop. The business doesn’t pause just because you do. But here’s where the story shifts. Because in this industry, you’re never as alone as you think.

James’ longtime employee stepped up immediately, taking over the role of foreman and running the field operations. The team didn’t fall apart. They leveled up. The systems that had been talked about but never fully implemented were suddenly forced into place.

On the backend, James shifted into a new role faster than he ever planned. Scheduling. Marketing. Customer communication. Working on the business instead of in it. A transition that had been delayed... now became necessary.

Then something bigger happened.

The window cleaning community showed up. Not just friends. Not just local guys. Total strangers. People who understood exactly what this kind of accident means. The risk. The reality. The fact that every single one of us has had a moment where we cut a corner, rushed a setup, or told ourselves "it’ll be fine."

Support came in from all directions. Donations. Messages. Encouragement. A reminder that this trade is built on more than just work... it’s built on people who take care of their own. For James, the lesson is simple, and it’s one every window cleaner needs to hear. Slow down.

If the day feels off, stop. Reset. Take a breath. Because the smallest mistake, the one that takes seconds to fix, can cost you weeks, months, or more.

This wasn’t a complicated failure. It wasn’t a lack of knowledge. It was a moment. A moment that will end up costing close to twenty thousand dollars in medical bills by the time recovery is done. A moment that forced a business to evolve overnight. A moment that could have been avoided. And yet, it may also be the turning point. Because sometimes it takes getting knocked down to finally make the changes you knew you needed to make all along.

James doesn’t plan on going back to the field the same way. The goal now is growth. Systems. Leadership. Building something that doesn’t rely on him being the one climbing the ladder every day.

Maybe that’s the real story here.

Not the fall. But what happens after. Because in this industry, it’s not about whether something can go wrong. It’s about what you build so you’re ready when it does.
