There’s definitely more than a basic pool taking shape here.

Projects with this many elevations and features require the gunite work to follow the design closely so everything comes together as planned. This angle gives a great perspective on just how much is built into the structure itself.

A little behind-the-scenes progress at American Gunite!

We’re getting a new yard set up for material pickup, giving us another location to help support our day-to-day operations and keep our trucks moving.

There’s a lot that happens away from the jobsite to make sure we’re ready when it’s time to get to work.

There’s no shortage of activity once the gunite starts flowing.

Shooting, shaping, and finishing all happen as the crew works its way through the pool. It takes experience, communication, and a lot of hands-on work to keep the process moving.

A good look at a busy day on the job with American Gunite.

This is one of those angles that shows just how far custom pool construction can go beyond the pool itself.

Raised features, stairs, different elevations, and curved structures all become part of the overall design. Gunite gives builders the flexibility to create some pretty impressive spaces—and we get to help turn those plans into the structure you see here.

Bigger projects call for plenty of material.

Our gunite trucks are lined up and ready to keep this commercial pool project moving. Having the right equipment and material on site helps our crews maintain a steady workflow throughout the job.

Just another look at what it takes behind the scenes to keep a large gunite project moving.

Applying gunite is a hands-on process that takes experience and control. As the material is pneumatically applied over the reinforced steel, the crew builds the pool structure to the shape and specifications of the project.

It’s a great look at the work that happens long before the finished pool is ever seen.

Before tile, plaster, water, and landscaping change the entire look of a backyard, this is what the structure underneath can look like.

Benches, steps, raised areas, curves, and other features are already formed into the gunite shell. The finishes may get most of the attention later, but much of the pool’s design is already right here.

Here’s a closer look at gunite application in action.

The material is pneumatically applied over the reinforced steel structure, allowing the crew to build out the shape and contours of the pool. It’s a hands-on process that combines specialized equipment with the experience of the crew behind the nozzle.

A great view of what goes into this stage of pool construction.

Working through a project of this size takes a steady, systematic approach.

Gunite is applied section by section as the crew works through the structure, building out the walls, floor, steps, and other features according to the pool's design. This shot gives a great look at the process while the work is still underway.

Not every job comes with a wide-open workspace.

Working in tighter areas takes careful coordination, especially when the work is happening close to a home and finished surfaces. Taking the time to protect the surrounding area is an important part of preparing the jobsite and completing the work with care.

It's all part of doing the job right from start to finish.
