A closer look at one of the bigger pieces of the Trine University Brooks College of Health Professions project: The Retaining Wall. (Capitalized because a wall this size earns it).

Our crew has been making great progress on this backyard project. The retaining wall is starting to take shape, and we're getting everything ready for the next phases, including the flagstone walkways, planting beds, boulders, and landscape lighting.

With the temperature hitting 91° yesterday, we know... a Rumpl blanket might not have been the first thing on everyone's mind. But cooler weather is just around the corner, and it'll be perfect for fall evenings, camping trips, and tailgates.

Last week, part of our team attended the SIMA Symposium & Trade Show in Cincinnati. Between educational sessions, roundtable discussions, and the trade show floor, it was a great chance to learn from contractors, manufacturers, and suppliers from across the country who are helping move the snow and ice industry forward.

Some of the best learning happened outside the presentations. We had the chance to sit down with contractors from regions that experience winter weather much like we do here in Northeast Indiana. It was helpful to hear what has worked for other contractors facing many of the same conditions we have, and we came away with a few ideas we're excited to put into practice.

Big thanks to SIMA, the speakers, exhibitors, and everyone who took the time to share their knowledge and insights. It's opportunities like this that help us keep raising the bar.

We know there's always something new to learn, and opportunities like this help us better serve the clients who trust us with their properties. Over the next few weeks, we'll share a few of the biggest takeaways we brought home.

We've all seen a little case of Bidnesia over the years...

Patient diagnosed after requesting a "simple retaining wall."

Common side effects include:
• "I had no idea retaining walls cost that much."
• Sudden interest in alternative options.
• Wondering if the wall is really necessary after all.
• Requests for value engineering.

Prognosis: Mulch bed expansion likely.

A little sneak peek of our new Fort Wayne office... and one of our newest office decorations.

Last night, Clounie Landscaping was included among several businesses recognized at Greater Fort Wayne Inc.'s Annual Meeting for expanding and investing in Allen County over the past year. For us, the exciting part isn't the award itself, it's what it represents: a growing team, a new home base, and the next chapter for a company that has been serving Northeast Indiana for 40 years.

We're grateful for our employees, clients, and partners who have helped make this growth possible, and we're looking forward to the next chapter.

Water Problems? We Can Help.

Turns out oceanfront property in "Indiana" isn't quite as valuable as the song makes it sound.

This homeowner was dealing with water collecting along the back of the home after heavy rains, creating concerns near the foundation. We identified the cause, reworked the area, improved the drainage, and got the water moving away from the house where it belongs.

And while our name is Clounie Landscaping, don't let that fool you. We do much more than plants and mulch. From drainage and grading to excavation and site work, we help solve outdoor problems from the ground up.
