Dull mower blades don’t cut your grass — they tear it. That shredded look leads to:
• White, frayed tips
• Increased stress on the lawn
• Higher risk of disease
• A dull, unhealthy appearance
On the flip side, sharp blades deliver a clean cut, helping your lawn:
✔ Heal faster
✔ Retain moisture
✔ Stay greener and thicker

Pro Tip: Homeowners should sharpen mower blades every 20–25 hours of mowing (or at least 2–3 times per season).
If your lawn looks “whitish” or frayed after mowing… it might not be the grass — it might be your blade.

🌳 Don’t Forget the Guide Wires!
When trees are first planted, guide wires and stakes are often installed to help stabilize the tree while the root system establishes. But one important step that is often overlooked is removing those supports after a few years.
Leaving guide wires on too long can:
❌ Restrict natural trunk movement
❌ Cause bark damage or girdling
❌ Prevent the tree from developing proper strength
Most trees only need staking for 1–2 growing seasons. After that, it’s best to remove them so the tree can grow strong and naturally on its own.
At TURFMASTER, we always keep an eye out for things like this during property maintenance. Small details like removing old guide wires help protect the long-term health of your landscape.
✅ If you notice old wires still attached to your trees, it may be time to remove them.

🌱 Crabgrass Trying to Crash Your Lawn Party? Not On Our Watch. 🌱

Crabgrass is one of the most aggressive weeds we deal with — and once it takes over, it spreads fast and crowds out your healthy turf.

At Turfmaster, we attack crabgrass the right way:

✅ Pre-emergent applications to stop it before it starts
✅ Proper timing based on soil temperatures
✅ Thick, healthy turf programs that naturally crowd weeds out

The key? Timing. Crabgrass prevention starts before you even see it.

If you’re seeing patches pop up — or want to make sure you don’t — send us a message today and let’s protect your lawn the Turfmaster way. 💪🌿
