Good morning Friday! In 1974 one of the greatest albums ever came out. The Doobie Brothers, What Once Were Vices Now Are Habits. The title still remains prophetic. A single line, “Thinkin’ for yourself is a hard thing to do “, still remains pertinent today. We are swayed by false political ideals, slanted news stories, agendized information, and social media swill. I wish Facebook had a filter to block the source of posts so that we could take things at face value. I believe that we see the source and accept or reject it based on preconceived notions instead of merit. Our slanted information has indeed made thinkin’ for ourselves a hard thing to do.

3rd of July Friday. Tomorrow, 250 years since the founders risked everything. Their homes, livelihoods, family and their lives. This is a big deal. I remember the joy and excitement of our bicentennial. Perhaps we could go just one day, maybe tomorrow without the self loathing, pseudo, intellectual musings, and self-deprecation of America. Maybe we could just be happy for one day that we live in the absolute greatest country on the planet.. We could be thankful that we don’t have to go through what was happening to 250 years ago. I don’t think today’s society has the stomach for it. Instead, we’re trying to introduce socialism/communism into our everyday lives. What a pity. So tomorrow let’s be happy, let’s celebrate the United States. Let’s all be Americans. God bless America!

Happy Summer Friday.
As I was driving across town the other day I noticed a FWCS school under some construction, looks life more office space actually. Got thinking about how all of this is really funded. And we all know that it’s property taxes. Only a couple of years ago there was a referendum to raise our property taxes to accommodate safety in the schools. Shortly afterward, one of the high schools upgraded their football field. And I believe it was under a year later one of the high schools announced a $30 million stadium. First, let me say I think property taxes are immoral. Secondly I think if referendums are being funded through property taxes, no one but property owners should be allowed to vote on them. I’m fully aware that schools need to be funded. They need to be funded by all not just a few.
