Today, while demolishing a deck to prepare for a new home addition, we found something unexpected — a mother opossum and her babies living underneath.
We paused the project, carefully made sure they had a safe way out, and waited until they were out of harm’s way before continuing our work.
Construction is about building homes, but it's also about respecting the life around us.
Just one of those moments that reminds us to slow down and do the right thing. ❤️🦝

🚨 Home Safety Tip 🚨

Many homeowners don’t realize that newer smoke and carbon monoxide detectors can communicate with each other without Wi-Fi and without running new wires throughout the house.

That means if a detector goes off in the basement, the alarms in the bedrooms and throughout the home can sound at the same time, helping alert your family faster in an emergency.

This can be a great option when replacing older detectors, especially in homes where running new wiring would be difficult or expensive.

A few reminders:

✅ Test your alarms regularly
✅ Replace outdated detectors
✅ Install smoke alarms inside and outside sleeping areas
✅ Make sure your family knows what to do when an alarm sounds
