Some roofs look easy from the street.

This is not one of them.

We’re working on Grandview Avenue in Fort Thomas today, and this project has just about everything working against the crew.

The house sits high above the street. The dumpster is all the way down at road level. The roof is roughly an 11/12–12/12 pitch, and the chimney is being removed as part of the project.

That means every piece of old roofing material has to come off a very steep roof, make its way down the hill, and everything going back on has to make the same trip in reverse.

A lot of people only see the finished roof.

We think the work it takes to get there matters too.

This homeowner had storm-related damage and is having the roof replaced through their insurance claim, with the homeowner responsible for their deductible and additional elective chimney work.
