⚠️ Carbon Monoxide Safety Reminder
Carbon monoxide is called the silent killer for a reason. It’s colorless, odorless, and can build up in your home without you realizing it.
Many homes have CO detectors, but what many people don’t realize is that some detectors are designed to wait until levels are already high before they alarm. By that point, people may already be experiencing symptoms like headaches, nausea, dizziness, or confusion.
Common sources of carbon monoxide include: • Cracked furnace heat exchangers
• Gas appliances
• Blocked vents or flues
• Running vehicles in attached garages
A few important safety tips: ✔ Install carbon monoxide detectors on every level of your home
✔ Test them regularly and replace them when recommended
✔ Have your furnace and gas appliances inspected annually
✔ If a detector goes off or you feel symptoms, get outside immediately and call for help
As an HVAC professional, I’ve seen firsthand how dangerous carbon monoxide can be. Regular inspections and properly working detectors can make a huge difference.
