Pretty cool to see something we’ve been working on getting put to use! 🤙

Our sister company, Benchmark Tracks, had prototype rollers out at Great Bear Ski Valley for the Falls Area Singletrack Enduro Race and Take a Kid Mountain Biking Day. Watching kids try them out and come back for another lap is what this is all about.

Always a good time connecting with fellow trail builders!

This year, you’ll find us exhibiting as Benchmark Tracks LLC. We’ll be showing off our new concrete pump track system and looking to meet companies interested in adding pump tracks to what they offer through a faster, repeatable installation system designed to preserve the intended geometry from one build to the next.

I’m also excited to be back in North Carolina. Seemingly in another life, I lived there—Fort Bragg, anyway. I’m looking forward to getting back and seeing it through a whole new set of eyes!

What if South Dakota's next great destination wasn't a building, attraction, or event...

What if it was a trail?

A trail that follows the Missouri River from Fort Pierre to Oacoma. Connecting public lands, Tribal communities, small towns, campgrounds, wildlife areas, and some of the most spectacular scenery in the Great Plains.

The BOLT Coalition—led by Bikepacking Roots, IMBA, PeopleForBikes, and partners across the country—released Long Live Long Trails, a report highlighting existing and potential long-distance trail opportunities on America's public lands.

Reading through it, it's hard not to imagine what could be possible along the Missouri River.

The Missouri River Trail is still just a vision, but every great trail starts somewhere.

Great to see the Aberdeen Bike Park Project getting attention!

Benchmark Trails was fortunate to help the Leadership Aberdeen class early on with bike park concepts and guidance as they worked to bring this vision to life. It’s exciting to see local partners, engineers, and community leaders rally around a project that can create more outdoor recreation opportunities for Aberdeen.

The project is now working toward funding for a future concrete pump track, where Benchmark Tracks is focused on bringing communities a real, durable, 8-foot-wide precast concrete pump track system built for quality, consistency, and northern climates.

Proud to have played a small part in helping move this idea forward.

The South Dakota Department of Transportation (SDDOT), in cooperation with the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), is seeking public comment on a proposed Section 4(f) de minimis impact determination related to the temporary closure of a segment of the Racetrack Trail in Meade County. The temporary trail closure is associated with planned improvements to Interstate 90 from exit 32 to west of exit 37. Construction activities include pavement replacement, drainage structure improvements, and reconstruction of the exit 34 interchange.

The affected trail segment extends from the Rapid City, Pierre, & Eastern Railroad crossing to its connection with the Centennial Trail. The closure is expected to last approximately one year, after which the trail will be restored to its original condition. The temporary closure will not adversely affect the activities, features or attributes that qualify Racetrack Trail for protection under Section 4(f).

FHWA intends to make a Section 4(f) de minimis impact determination based on coordination with the BLM and the limited duration and nature of the closure.

The public is invited to review and comment on the proposed impact determination at www.i90exit32to40project.com.
