Unfortunately the painting industry has changed drastically over the last few years, and the homeowners are paying the price. I am not referring to higher prices, I am referring to quality provided to homeowners especially for exterior home painting. Yes the price of paint has gone up, and many painters are using lower quality paints, and passing if off to the customers as being a good quality paint, and it is not. They are also cutting corners drastically, this is where the homeowners are really paying the price. The exterior paint jobs are not lasting like they should and the paint is coming off the homes.
The reason for this post is to educate homeowners. If the price is low, you have to ask yourself a question. Why is this painter so low.
I recently just finished painting this homes exterior where the homeowners where taken advantage of and they were not even aware of how badly, until we started pressure cleaning the home.
These pictures tell the story of how badly they were treated by a previous painting contractor.
What you are looking at on this home is when we pressure cleaned the homes exterior, all of the paint came off this homes exterior stucco. The reason this happened is the previous painter did not pressure clean the homes exterior using a bleach and water solution. They also did not apply a chalk sealer to the previous coating to seal in the chalky surface.
This just one way your low cost painters can give a homeowner a low ball price for exterior house painting.
