🐋 Rebuilding a Local Icon — The Whale is Coming Back! 🏗️

After nearly three years, Fort Myers Beach is getting a piece of its heart back — and Fowler Construction is honored to be part of the story.

The Whale Bar & Grill, a beloved local staple destroyed by Hurricane Ian, is rising again with more space, the same charm, and a whole new vibe. From a massive rooftop tiki bar to live music and a Buckeye-themed ground floor, this three-story rebuild is more than a restaurant — it’s a revival of what makes Fort Myers Beach special.

After nearly three years of waiting, The Whale Bar & Grill is almost back. Construction is moving along, and if all goes according to plan, the Fort Myers Beach staple will reopen this fall with a bigger building, the same beloved menu, and a few new surprises.

Site work is officially underway for Land Perc's new parking lot expansion. After completing the renovation to their facility, this is the next step in supporting their continued growth.

We're proud to partner with Land Perc on this project and help create the space they need to keep growing and serving their community.

Fowler Construction and Development is thrilled to announce the groundbreaking of The Whale Restaurant and Bar on Fort Myers Beach! Recently, we celebrated with local officials and the community. This iconic spot is returning with a three-story design, featuring an enclosed first floor, and is the first new commercial structure to complete the post-Ian permitting process. This week, Rob Fowler Jr. discussed the highly anticipated Port Phoenix Marina with Fox News. In just two weeks after Hurricane Ian, Fowler Construction & Development and Safe Harbour established a "triage boatyard" to salvage vessels scattered throughout the county. Now, this site is set to transform into Safe Harbour’s Port Phoenix Marina, led by Fowler Construction & Development, GMA Architects, Speath Engineering, and Hans Wilson & Associates. Scheduled for completion in late 2025, the marina will feature first-in-the-US technologies and top-tier member services, showcasing Fowler's innovative recovery approach. A new marina is rising in Lee County after Hurricane Ian. Starting as a "triage boatyard" for salvageable vessels displaced by Ian, Safe Harbor’s Port Phoenix Marina is currently in the permitting and design phase, led by Fowler Construction & Development, GMA Architects, Speath Engineering, and Hans Wilson & Associates.
