A look at Fetch Specialty & Cancer Veterinary Center! 🐾

GMA Architects & Planners transformed an existing 7,475-square-foot medical office into a modern veterinary facility designed to support specialized animal care.

The renovation included five exam rooms, two surgical suites, a full-service ICU, a chemotherapy suite, and advanced diagnostic imaging areas. The exterior also received a complete update, with new windows, patterned stucco, architectural details, and Bahama-style sunshades to give the building a more contemporary look.

Completed in 2019, this project is a great example of how an existing space can be repurposed to meet the needs of a growing veterinary practice.

Project Spotlight | Arborwood Preserve

Completed in 2017, Arborwood Preserve is a 25,194-square-foot clubhouse and amenity center designed for WCI Communities in Fort Myers.

The clubhouse was designed with a unique “village” layout, with four separate buildings connected by covered walkways and outdoor gathering spaces. Throughout the complex, residents have access to fitness and yoga studios, a café, activity and craft spaces, administrative offices, indoor and outdoor dining, a full commercial kitchen, and even an intimate theatre.

The Spanish Colonial style ties everything together with tile roofs, textured stucco, arched openings, and wrought iron detailing. Covered walkways and outdoor dining areas also help create a natural flow between each building while taking advantage of the Southwest Florida setting.

When Phelan Family Brands set out to transform an existing 10,200-square-foot building into its new corporate headquarters, GMA helped reimagine the space from the inside out.

The renovation introduced a completely new exterior identity while reorganizing the former office suites into a cohesive workplace tailored to the Phelan team. Inside, updated offices, collaborative spaces, a conference room, reception area, break room and lounge create an environment designed around both day-to-day operations and company culture.

Having worked with Phelan Family Brands on several of its restaurant concepts, this project gave our team the opportunity to bring that relationship, and an understanding of the brand, into the place they call headquarters.

Designed by GMA, Gulfshore Pediatric Dentistry brings a playful beach and undersea theme throughout the space, creating a colorful and welcoming environment for young patients and their families.

From immersive murals and bright finishes to dedicated video and game rooms, each element was thoughtfully incorporated to make the dental experience feel a little less intimidating, while still providing the functional spaces needed for comprehensive pediatric care.

Taking a look back at one of our projects from 1997, the City of Palms Parking Garage in Downtown Fort Myers!

This five-story, 187,000-square-foot precast concrete structure provides parking for 560 cars, along with 6,000 square feet of retail space at the street level.

When we designed the garage, we wanted it to be more than just a place to park. The design was created to fit into the surrounding urban environment, provide a pedestrian-friendly experience, and serve as a gateway into Downtown Fort Myers.

We incorporated retail storefronts, streetscape elements, lighting, signage, colors, and architectural details to help make the garage feel like a part of the community rather than simply a parking structure.

Nearly 30 years later, we're proud to look back at projects like this and see the lasting impact they’ve had on Downtown Fort Myers.

Meet Rich McConville, a valued member of the GMA Architects & Planners team for the past 3 years!

With decades of experience in construction administration, Rich plays an essential role in bringing projects from design to completion. His expertise includes coordinating with owners, architects, and contractors; reviewing submittals and shop drawings; responding to RFIs; evaluating pay applications; conducting site observations; and helping ensure construction stays aligned with the contract documents.

Rich’s extensive technical knowledge and hands-on experience make him an invaluable part of our team and a key resource throughout the construction process.
