📖 STORY TIME‼️‼️

The dryer wasn’t the problem…the wiring was. 🔌🐀

We recently received a service call from a customer whose dryer suddenly stopped working.

Our first step was testing the breaker, and we found the proper 240V coming out of the panel. So the power was leaving the breaker as it should.

Next, we tested at the dryer receptacle…and that’s where things got interesting…

One leg was showing the expected ~120V, while the other was only showing around 16V. ⚡

That told us the problem wasn’t the dryer. We had a loss of power somewhere between the electrical panel and the dryer.

After tracing the circuit, we found the culprit:

🐀 A rodent had chewed through the wiring underneath the home!

One damaged wire was preventing that leg of power from reaching the dryer!!

This is why proper electrical troubleshooting matters. Sometimes the appliance isn’t the problem at all…you have to find where the power stops!
