UCI Paints Manufacturing architectural coatings specifically for South Florida's tropical climate since 1970.

UCI Paints was a dream of founder, Sy Devick, who began manufacturing Lacquers and other industrial coatings in East Patterson, New Jersey. The lure of living in Florida with its warm tropical climate convinced Sy to pick up and move his family to South Florida in 1969. As a paint manufacturer up north, he knew he needed a different chemical composition for his paints to combat the mildew, algae, and tropical climate that he wanted to live in.

A fresh color. Cleaner lines. A whole new look for Boca Glades. ✨

This before-and-after goes beyond a color change. Wood elements were removed from the pinkish buildings to create a cleaner, more modern finish, while a fresh neutral palette brought a brighter, updated appearance to the community.

UCI PAINTS is proud to be part of this Boca Glades transformation. 🎨

Three repaint quotes. Are they pricing the same work?

Before comparing prices, you need a clear description of what the project requires.

That’s the purpose of a UCI PAINTS’ specification report a written document outlining the surface preparation, products, and application procedures specified for your repaint.

It gives contractors a shared scope to bid on—and gives property managers and HOA boards a clearer way to compare proposals.

The report helps answer:
• What preparation is required?
• Which products should be used?
• How should they be applied?

During the project, UCI PAINTS’ field inspections help verify that the work follows those specifications.

Clear expectations before painting. A reference throughout the job.

Lunch with a purpose: helping property managers make informed repaint decisions. 🏘️

On September 17, UCI PAINTS joined the Associa Property Management team in Miramar for a Lunch & Learn focused on the communities they serve.

Julie Devick shared UCI’s history and advantages, while Field Inspector Brian Domin explained how specification reports and inspections support the repaint process.

The conversation covered:
• Paint formulated for South Florida’s extreme climate.
• Factory-direct wholesale pricing.
• Field inspections and project specifications.
• Non-prorated warranty coverage that doesn’t decrease over time.

We wrapped up with a raffle and three gift-card giveaways—a fun finish to an afternoon of learning and connection!

Thank you to the Associa team for welcoming us.

What repaint question would you bring to a Lunch & Learn? Drop it below—we’d love to hear what your team wants to understand better. 👇

Premium paint. A 10-year warranty that doesn’t lose coverage value with age.

UCI PAINTS Ultra-Kote and Storm-Shield combine coatings formulated for Florida’s demanding climate with a 100% NON-PRORATED 10-YEAR MATERIAL WARRANTY on qualifying projects.

What does non-prorated mean?
The amount covered under the warranty does not shrink simply because time passes. A covered issue in year nine isn’t subject to reduced coverage just because the coating is older.

🔹 ULTRA-KOTE
A premium 100% acrylic satin coating designed to resist chalking, excessive fading, mildew, and algae.

🔹 STORM-SHIELD
A high-solids, low-sheen 100% acrylic coating designed for coastal conditions, with resistance to fading, blistering, chalking, and flaking.

Both are part of UCI’s documented 10-year non-prorated material warranty program. Ask about available 12-year options for your selected product and project. Coverage is subject to the applicable warranty terms.

If you were comparing two paint proposals, would knowing that one warranty loses coverage value over time change your decision? Tell us why. 👇

DID YOU KNOW? A 10-year paint warranty can lose value before year 10.

With a prorated warranty, the amount covered decreases over time. If a covered issue occurs later in the warranty period, a smaller portion may be covered—leaving you responsible for more of the cost.

UCI PAINTS offers a different approach: a 100% non-prorated 10-year material warranty on qualifying premium exterior products, with 12-year options also available depending on the selected warranty program.

Non-prorated means the coverage provided under the warranty does not decrease simply because time has passed. Covered issues remain subject to the warranty’s terms.

And the process starts before the final coat: UCI provides written project specifications and on-site inspections to verify preparation and application before issuing the warranty.

For property managers, HOA boards, and contractors, the question is more than “How many years?” It’s “What will still be covered?”

Before this post, had you ever checked whether a paint warranty was prorated? Tell us: yes, no, or not sure. 👇

Who’s looking out for your community repaint from start to finish?

FIELD INSPECTION SERIES • PART 4
More Than Choosing Paint

Choosing a color is one step. Having a paint manufacturer involved throughout the project brings another level of support.

In Part 4, Brian Domin explains how UCI PAINTS' stays involved from start to finish, serving as a connection between the HOA and painting contractor.

That involvement helps ensure the products are applied correctly and the work is completed properly—with a company that stands behind its products and warranties.

Watch Brian explain the UCI process, then tell us: What would give you more confidence during a repaint—regular progress updates, on-site inspections, or clear warranty information?
