The most important part of our process happens before we ever touch our tools.

We start by listening and by learning how our clients live, what they need from their space, and what they want it to feel like. From there, every detail is considered and refined: storage, functionality, proportions, materials, and finishes, often down to fractions of an inch.

For this project, that meant working closely with Sanctuary Revealed Design and Nickelson Construction to bring together microshaker cabinetry, ribbed slat details, white oak, and highly intentional storage designed specifically for this family and for their daily rhythms.

We don’t just build nice cabinet boxes. We design beautiful solutions and systems around the people who will use it every day.

Bespoke means more than custom dimensions. It means listening, collaborating with our partners, revising, and refining until every detail feels like it was always meant to be there.

Some of the best construction details are the ones you probably don’t notice once the house is complete.

At Nickelson Construction, our luxury design-build process starts with understanding how our clients live, what matters to their family, and how they want their home to feel. Those conversations guide the space plans, architectural iterations, and design decisions that follow, each revision bringing the home closer to their vision.

There’s a lot happening beneath the simplicity of this project: long, uninterrupted sightlines, oversized openings, tall ceilings, clean transitions between spaces, and architectural details that had to blend precisely in order for the entire property to feel cohesive.

That precision carried directly into the cabinetry and interiors. Chris Harris and his team at Harris Timberworks built pieces that beautifully complement the architecture rather than simply filling available space, while Keri at Sanctuary Revealed Design carried materials, proportions, and finishes from one room into the next.

It’s why collaboration between the builder, architect, cabinetmaker, designer, and the entire build team matters so much. From the first conversations through the finishing details, we worked together to shape how this home looks, functions, and feels. This project reflects just how much thought and care go into making a finished home feel effortless.

This is why we do what we do.
What makes this work special are the moments when months of planning, problem solving, and collaboration finally become a home for the people who trusted us to create it.

The process starts with listening. Understanding how a family lives, what they value, what they need, and what they want their home to feel like. Then it takes the right team to translate those ideas into something beautifully designed, functional, and lasting.

This project demanded an incredible level of care in the details. In some cases, that meant spending days working through something as specific as the layout of the fireplace’s fluted marble tiles, simply to ensure it felt exactly right.

From there, every discipline had to come together. The overall construction, the custom cabinetry and millwork, and the interior design all had to support the same vision, with each piece reinforcing the others rather than competing for attention.
For this family, that also meant thoughtfully supporting their daughter’s unique needs as part of the process. Seeing them experience the finished home together for the first time is what brings all of that work into focus.

Together, we’re incredibly grateful to have guided this home from vision to reality through a true collaboration between the entire Design and Build Team. Most of all, we’re grateful to the Gray family for trusting our team with something so personal.

The best projects come together when design, craftsmanship, and construction are moving in the same direction. This home reflects that kind of teamwork, with close collaboration between Sanctuary Revealed, Harris Timberworks, and Nickelson Construction shaping the result from the larger design vision down to the smallest details.

Keri Andre established the interior around warmth, contrast, scale, and livability, while Harris Timberworks carried that tone into the custom cabinetry and millwork throughout the home. Anchoring that collaboration on the construction side, Nickelson Constructionliterally laid the foundation for the home and brought the broader vision together. The finished space works because none of those elements were developed in isolation; each decision informed the next from start to finish.

Projects like this simply don’t happen without genuine collaboration and professional communication. There’s a lot to appreciate in each contribution, but the real strength of the project is how well it all works together.
